After plenty of discussion since the Optus TV Now case, this is what Telstra is offering.

Does anyone envisage using this service.

It's great if you have Telstra. Find it bizarre that I can watch American sports on my phone but I have to be a certain mobile user to watch my local sport.Sounds a reasonable package though

Sounds very tempting.
Also noticed in the fine print that it doesn't effect your data usage limit.
If you are a Telstra Next G® mobile customer you will not incur data usage charges for viewing or using m.afl.com.au (unless you are roaming overseas).
Just curious but does anyone know if / how this would work if using an Iphone (with Telstra 3G) that is setup as a personal hotspot to an Ipad (but without dedicated Telstra 3G) ? That is, is it possible to watch it on the Ipad via a 'Telstra Iphone hotspot connection ? I'm assuming it's not yet possible.

I have Foxtel, I only really want to see Dogs games, so I won't be using it (oh, and my mobile is with Crazy John's (Vodafone)

I'm Optus, so no. I'm Telstra Broadband at home though, and I do watch quite a few of the match replays on the AFL site without using my data up.

Yes that is fine to do as the data is still being used by the phone

I'm looking at getting the T-Box with the Telstra package I already have. Might be decent value for money.

Or if you don't have fingers but you have an Iphone 4S - ask Siri to do it for you

I have a media player that connects my TV to the internet called Logitech Revue.
The Revue runs on Android Honeycomb and comes with Google TV and includes all the Android apps. I downloaded GTV box a media player app and my daughter worked out she can stream her IPHONE through to the TV. I wonder if that will work with the Footy on mobile, cheaper than Foxfooty and all done through WiFi.

You can get the 1st month for free. Maybe give it a try.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it once you've tried it.

The AFL has released an official app for the 2012 season, AFL Live Official. Looks pretty good at this stage, but the real test will come once the season starts.
I've also noticed that Geelong is producing it's own app, which will be released prior to Rd 1. Is this an AFL initiative that all clubs will be doing, or is it just something from the Cats?

At $49mth your better off getting the foxtel basic + sport deal they are doing for $50mth for 12mth. You not only get the extra channels of fox but you get thefooty channel which withthe tbox you only get live games and replays.
