This is the round 15 edition of the Weekly Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the game against Fremantle is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys that you we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away (http://www.woof.net.au/forum/showthread.php?t=10557)on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

Just a bump for the Bankers and Anchors.

Bankers

* Two nice goals from Dahl in the second quarter

* Minsons around the ground Marking and aggression (in the right way)

* Dickson, the opportunist, too bad he is not given more with poor delivery from up the ground.

Anchors

* Markovic - Has no idea where the ball is, where his man is and doesn't know how to kick a short pass. Poor display and looked second rate.

* Sherman - should be getting more of the ball, not good enough

* Cordy - Still along way off, really doesn't know how to play the FF role.

Bankers: Dickson, Minson, Dahlhaus
Anchors: Markovic, a good VFL player, that is all.
Djerkurra not up to it.
The whole side as a whole play a very unattractive brand of footy.

Bankers: Our ability to win the ball and get it into the forward line / keep it there.
Anchors: Forward line or lack of it, again. Need to lead boys!

Bankers:
Howard's first half
The usual energetic display by Dahlhaus (anyone hear Dwayne Russell comment that he has been out of form because he hasn't been kicking many goals?)
Another solid game from Big Will......finished strongly.

Anchors:
Marcovic really did look second rate today
Can Griffen work through a hard tag? Crowley is pathetic but owned Griffen tonight.
We are just awful to watch

Bankers:

Higgins worked hard, Dahl was creative and Howard was much stronger in the one-on-one contests than he was last week. Minno continued his excellent season and worked very hard all around the ground - quite sad that he's easily the most dangerous marking target inside forward 50.

Anchors:

Higgins was good all match but his petulant spray to Dahl for a kick into forward 50 that dropped short early in the last qtr was really poor. While he was busy spraying Dahl, a Freo player kicked the ball while Higgins had his back turned - had Higgins turned around he would have smothered the kick. Just a terrible look for a senior leader.

Markovic had an absolute mare. Had no impact in the one-on-ones, gave away needless free kicks (the Broughton one), and his short kicking was woefully sub-standard.

Game plan - we are just hideous to watch at the moment. Our indiscriminant kicks out of the congestion get eaten up by the opposition time and again. Only because Freo are mostly rubbish (save for Pav and Mayne up forward), they kept it semi-interesting for us. Ross Lyon coaches not to lose, so his teams never pull the trigger - a good team with even a modicum of attacking drive would have beaten us by over 10 goals tonight.

Bankers

- Dickson, looks dangerous could turn of foot and is about out only forward who knows how to lead.
- Minson, if its true we only offered him 1 year then we have officially lost the plot.
- Picken, yes he turns it over but do does everyone else in the side. His job was to stop Hill and it didn't even seem like Hill was out there tonight.

Anchors

- Griffen, for some reason escapes critism on here. I generally thought he was up to the standard of the top shelf mids in the comp at the start of the season. But he has dropped right off. Disposal is awful and not working hard enough.

- Cordy, why would someone with his size not play infront? With the Rules making it hard for defenders to defend genuine height it baffles me why he plays 10 metres behind his opponent. The amount of times the ball was banged in long and he was getting bodied out while the ball dropped infront for an uncontested mark was just bewildering. I hope that's not coaching instructions.

-Sherman, at least act interested FFS. Our team is screaming out for players like you and you offer us nothing. Zilch.

Bankers:

- Dahlhaus and Higgins - for a bit of creativity that we lacked everyhwere else on the ground.
- Lake - for saving us from being smashed by double that margin.
- Wallis - keeps working hard in close with clean hands and much improved kicking.

Anchors:

- Sherman - I've been defending his selections as we've been crying out for his pace and outside run. He was useless again, and whenever he gets the ball outside 50 - either turns it over directly, or puts in a completely 'vanilla' kick forward that gives us no chance.

- Markovic & Austin - Both outclassed, and thats to be expected from the toilers, but Markovic in particular was so easily pushed aside. was as bad as he was in his stint on Josh Kennedy at the same ground last year.

- Cordy, needs to lead at the footy - too often we have players from 70-80m out kick their full distance - and Cordy doesn't make up the difference with a 25 metre lead.
