A-duh-laide!

ADELAIDE will participate in next week's national draft after successfully seeking an adjournment of the AFL Commission's hearing into the serious salary cap and draft tampering charges it faces, as the league's probe widened to examine a third-party payment to midfield star Patrick Dangerfield.

Could end up worse for them. Unlikely their first pick will be 20 next yr. especially without Tippett.

The drama at the Adelaide Football Club continues. Who knows what's next. I believe when a premiership is won there is always a fear of salary cap breaches afterwards. I don't think it went as far back as 97-98 for the Crows.

Really bad move by Adelaide to piss off the AFL like this

Going to go on for ages. Draw in other clubs, with Geelong, Carlton now all under the microscope.
why don't they just save time and reward the good clubs :)

Adelaide's draft bombshell

By Nick Bowen 3:37 PM Wed 21 Nov, 2012

Adelaide says it won't use its first two picks in Thursday's NAB AFL Draft

IN A SHOCK move, Adelaide has voluntarily relinquished its first two picks in Thursday night's NAB AFL Draft as a "gesture of goodwill towards resolving the [Kurt] Tippett matter".

The Crows chairman Rob Chapman announced the club's decision on Adelaide's website on Thursday, describing it as a common sense initiative that was in the club’s overall best interests.

The Crows have given up picks No. 20 and 54, and will now use picks 62, 81 and 95.

What a joke. Since when do the guilty get to decide what their punishment will be and when they will commence serving it from?
They are choosing to serve now because it serves them better to do so. In effect with Brad Crouch they already have a high first round pick ready to go next season.
Unless they are planning not to contend any of the charges against them, how can they agree to any penalties anyway?
What if they are subsequently exonerated (yeah right)?
No it is ridiculous. The only way the penalty can apply from this year is if they accept all guilt, and the AFL panel determine the penalties which Adelaide then accept unreservedly.

They must be trying to mitigate against an even bigger whack by appearing contrite and kneeling before the AFL. The penitant "team" will pass.

I would say there have been a few phone calls from the AFL and back to try and Spin this. and here we have it. Crows take a bow and will probably play finals again regardless of all this. Poo.

Basically pleading guilty to lessen their punishment. Maybe they'll try and reduce their sentence by pleading insanity. Weezels!
