So the draft is done and dusted and we still have two spots to fill on the list
Who were the kids not selected that we should consider for either of these two spots?

I'm glad we didn't pick Garlett at this point because he isn't ready. No such thing as a bad kid, just not ready, like a cake in an oven. BUT I wonder what is going through his head now and if the penny has dropped?
If a club were to sit him down and give him the hard talk, but then open the door a bit and maybe make him do a guaranteed period in the VFL, maybe some contract with plenty of clauses, cover our butts, good idea?
I can understand shelling out big bucks for a guy who is not committed is just going to piss off your senior players, possibly influence other young players. But if a club sets the bar in the post draft period, say here it is, take it or leave it, what's to lose?

Do we have two spots because of Zeph Skinner's leaving?
I suppose the coaching staff might think of needs moreso now cream of crop gone?

Not a bad idea Ghost Dog, I'd throw Garlett a bone (pardon the pun) and say your AFL career is just about down the toilet before you even stated. Ask him how bad does he wants it and is he willing to do what it takes for a chance.
Then have a contract that has so many out clauses that the slightest indiscretions and he's gone. Then it would be up to him and to prove the footy world he has what it takes to play at the highest level.

One spot on the main list and one spot on the rookie
Would Hrovats mate Matthew Haynes be looked at?

How do we have a spot on the rookie? It's been cut to 4 for each club and we have Greenwood, Redpath, Jong and Austin?

I think Skinner leaving has created 2 spots on our list and they may be looking at upgrading another rookie.

OK, you'd think Austin would be the logical one. When fit he was pretty good this year and could be a pretty solid defender. I really hope they wait until the PSD and pick up another kid rather than a Prismall or the like.

Sorry for side stepping the topic for one second but..
Can anyone please tell me when the (I guess) cut off date is to submit a clubs final playing list is? Just wondering how much of a look the club will get at its newbies before making final selections.
P.S. I am aware it can be altered throughout the year with injuries etc.

All the list management details have been posted on the forum but it all finalises at the end of the pre-season draft.

I think the PSD and rookie draft is early December.
Actually, December 11.

So do I.
I did hear Hird say Prismall is still training with Essendon and if he is still available they will re-draft him.
I guess it all depends who offers what contract etc.

I think so, he performed well at the combine and had a good season. Worth a look at.

Sam Colquhoun from Central Districts was expected to go and wasn't, is now training with the Power
From Glenelg Nathan Stark (on baller) would be a great development player for us, and harrison Gill was the most athletic player at the state combine.

I hope Prismall stays healthy as a Bomber next year. I hope he's training the house down over there.

I think everyone hopes it
The board will go into meltdown
Haynes or Gill appear to have the speed we need
Is Gill a line breaking type?

"The Beast" Stringer, Macrae, Hrovat, Hunter & Prudden are all 18 yo's. They won't have a big impact in 2013. It may be 2+ years before they are regulars.
Kobe "The Earthquake" Stevens & "Bluey" Young are more likely to press for regular selection in 2013.
With 2 spots left for the pre-season draft, do we go for players with a little more experience but not too old or do we go for more 18yo's with an attitude that we are after longer term quality rather than short-term pain-relief?

Gill played mainly as an attacking defender this year. Yep, can definitely run through the lines. Also drifted forward and kicked a goal or two.
Highly athletic, skills maybe not elite
