Hard to do an intro about these guys for me - I know bugger all about them beyond recruits like Ward and Scully, retreads like Cornes and a whole lot of excellent draft picks, no more than boys.
Are they lock for the spoon and only win 0 - 3 games, or could they surprise everyone and do a bit better than that?

Certainly bottom 4, but I think they will come on quicker than GC. They did beat them once last year in just their 7th game.

We'll be rating them highly in a couple of years.
Think we'll finish above them.
They'll be looking to be more competitive this season.
Patton and Cameron are going to cause pain for teams in future years.

2013 will be another development year as will 2014, but I think beyond that they are going to cause some headaches.

I can see them being better than expected. They have alot of naturally competitive kids in their team as opposed to GC who have alot of talented Scott Clayton specials on the list.

They'll run over a few teams at the start of the season.
See them still in development but will give a few teams a run for their money.
As mentioned by others I agree they are only a year or two away.
Also think they will finish above us this season and in the future will be one of the major threats when our window re-opens.

I saw a half against the Swans, in greasy and wet conditions GWS went ok. They seem to handle the conditions better than Sydney and they have some players that may do well this season. If we have a repeat of last year GWS will finish in front of us, I think Cameron has turned them into a more attacking team and they have some potent targets up forward.
But this could mean nothing as I'm basing this on half of a NAB cup game.

Thanks.
Yes, the weather up has been awful.
Did Patton look good?

From what I saw he will worry some sides this year and next year will hurt others, had a nice snap from the boundary for a goal finished with 2 goals. Looks like a well balanced player for his size.

Heard the game .
Big wraps on Patton, still think regardless NAB form they could win 3 to 4 games.

I think they'll grab 4-6 games at the least. They're coming along much nicer than GC and seem to have an optimal environment around their prized charges, in terms of coaching and development. It all depends on their confidence, if they get a good start they will shock the rest of the league.
I watched them today. They looked better than we did.

Has anyone looked worse than us?
From what I have seen only last years GF teams who look well short of a gallop have struggled to the extent that we did.

I guess I was looking for some more detail about GWS, since I didn't see the game.
I'm assuming their ball use was better?
It's easy to be negative, but in the opening 10 minutes V Collingwood we looked pretty good.
A great pass then mark by Gia for a goal. Great run down chase by Grant. It's being able to sustain it for 4 quarters and under pressure is what troubles us.

GWS have Patton and Cameron...we have nobody of that calibre...will not be surprised if their kids improve enough to give us the spoon.
Yes I'm serious.

I don't think so. We played poorly and our skill execution was a mile behind other sides I have seen. Lot of work ahead of us.
