Goodes has been upgraded. Congratulations Brett!

Brett Goodes sees himself as more than short-term support for his young Western Bulldogs teammates, and has aspirations to become a regular member of the side that has given him his first AFL chance at the age of 29.

No surprise there, will done to Brett, he's looked AFL quality in all his outings.
With JJ coming on nicely as a rebounding defender who can break the lines and defend well enough for his size, we look like we can finally cover Harbrow. And now Goodes looks like he'll be the HBF with good kicking skills we've been craving since Gilbee's decline. It'll only be for probably 3 years but it gives us 3 years to recruit and develop a replacement without the backline being unbalanced.

Good luck to Brett, he has certainly worked hard to get his opportunity.
Certainly looked every bit an AFL player in the pre-season. Smart and strong over the ball. Assume he'll be our kick out man most of the time also. Well done.

Well done Brett. He has certainly earned his promotion. Before he was picked on our rookie list he was training the house down over summer so the Club had no hesitation in choosing him. Now his form in the practice matches has certainly shown he deserves his promotion to the senior list. A great story.

One of the great AFL stories ever. So proud that it is a Bulldog story. I have so much respect for both the Goodes men, they ooze character.
