Actually may get to see a game this weekend, albeit not a Doggie's one.
One of my Pup's has been invited to play in Canberra on Sunday and may head over early and catch the GWS game.

A very good evening with lots of current players attending.
* Templeton couldn't make it, called away on business to Dubai:)
* Clay Smith has put on 6 kg, really has some muscle bulging from his T-shirt
* Billy and Liam Picken entertaining as was Ayce and Brian Cordy
* Zane Cordy already 6' 3" and still growing
* Peter Gordon in attendance, had a quick chat to him
* Spoke to Roughie he will pick up Vickery tomorrow
* I didn't win a prize in the raffle even with 50 prizes on offer
Overall a good night, food poor(just a sausage sizzle) but plenty of wine and beer

A great night - relaxed, informal and the auction went well although I don't know how the fishing trip with Vez and Marco wil go.

It would have been even better if the ignorant people talking down the back had shut up.

It's the worst part about the social club. People complained that SC membership didnt offer enough, they bring people in to speak and they can't be heard over the rude yappers! Very annoying.

Yes it was.
It is the worst part about the Social Club and any activities.
I went to a Christmas dinner in December and our speakers were Olympians and 2 women on our table never shut up at any stage. Would have been nice to hear the speakers at that too.
If you want to talk, go outside.

Was this recent event just for social club members or for anyone to go?

This was a real problem at a talk Brendan gave, the beginning of his tenure. So bloody rude.

I was at last weeks game with my mum, we left the SC, as it was pointless trying to hear above all the rude talking.

The Christmas dinner was not a bulldogs event, it was example of rudeness of people, sorry if people misunderstood my comments.

I hear what you say Max469. I was at a Church for my cousin's wedding recently and there were very rude people there too talking over the ceremony.

I'm surprised, most people I see now days don't talk at all they have are bowed heads and wandering fingers.

In my experiance it's not the young people who are involved.
Its more the Senior bracket.

Let me guess...the bride was talking during the ceremony? Early warning signs right there.

Might have been the Brides father, whispering to her "it's not to late, you are far to good for him.":D

Or the bride's mother...."don't make the same mistake I did".
Are we done?:)

Could have been the best man, "it was only one night, Ihope he never finds out" or worse " it was only one night, hope she never finds out." :D
Done now.:)
