Does anyone care about the Ireland games?

I'm not 100% sure what the purpose of this tour is. Maybe it was a good experiment when someone first thought of it. But does the code really get good value for money for this? Does anyone care about the outcome?

And as an aside, if the purpose is to promote and support indigenous culture, I'd rather they got a bunch of kids from NT thunder or some other rural outfit where opportunities are less, and give them a bit of experience. I'm pretty sure folks would get more of a thrill seeing their local kids perform on a big stage than stars who get lots of opportunities day in and out.

And why the hell are their always fights? Peace fellas. You're not playing for sheep stations!

So is anyone here keen on AFL players going to Ireland? Is the above an overly negative view?

I used to enjoy the game when it first started and can recall going out to Waverley Park to watch a game. I would have a look at it now but it's more around to see how hard the Irish go.

I'd probably be interested in it if the AFL was serious about it (ie. playing the All Australian team and not accepting players leaving after one match). Shame it'll never happen, because an All Australian side playing an "All-Ireland" side in a hybrid game of our two sports would actually be quite entertaining.
