Dr Susan Alberti AO and Kylie Watson-Wheeler were elected to the Western Bulldogs Board of Directors tonight at the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Dr Alberti will continue as Bulldogs Vice President after being re-elected to the Board.

An Australian of the Year finalist on two occasions, Dr Alberti has made notable contributions to both business and philanthropy for over three decades.

A co-founder and Managing Director of the DANSU Group and Chairman of the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation, Dr Alberti has also graciously devoted a lifetime to her other passion, the Western Bulldogs.

Dr Alberti is Director of the Western Bulldogs Forever Foundation which has raised more than $6 million since 2005 to support the Club.

Kylie Watson-Wheeler a current Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, for a major global Media and Entertainment Company in the Australian and New Zealand region - comes to the Club with a wealth of experience in high-profile business both domestically and abroad.

A highly successful marketing executive, Ms. Watson-Wheeler currently works for the Walt Disney Company, Australia – New Zealand, prior to this she was involved in building global brands, Coca-Cola and Hallmark Cards.

Raised in Footscray, Watson-Wheeler is a passionate and experienced business leader who was twice awarded Global Employee of the Year by Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Long standing Director, George Pappas retired from the Board tonight after 12 years of passionate service. Mr. Pappas, who is the current Chancellor of Victoria University, will continue to be an important friend of the Bulldogs as the Club continues to strategically grow its connection to the Western Region in partnership with key stakeholders.

The Western Bulldogs also awarded life memberships to the following people for their outstanding contribution to the Club:

Darren Arthur, Scharlaine Cairns, Doug Roulston, Mark Childs, Ian Foreman and Stuart Coffield

Sue Alberti would make a wonderful president when PG steps down.
She has done so much for this club, much of it without fanfare.

I thought a few years back she was earmarked to take over from Smorgon when he stepped down?

I heard her on the radio in the last week or so talking about the club and how she was in the cheer squad etc. Lovely lady and certainly an asset to the club.

Well done to Sue and she certainly is a great contributor to the club.
Having been a ex- cheer squad member maybe she instigated the cheer squad rejig.
