The Western Bulldogs this week opened the doors to the brand new Barkers Café – a fresh, new look eatery and meeting place for all of our members, fans and our local community.

Located at Victoria University Whitten Oval, the new Café has had an exciting facelift, keeping the Club’s community feel while injecting a new look and feel and menu.

MENU: View the new Barkers Café menu

The perfect place to grab a top notch coffee, enjoy a Bulldogs Big Breakfast or a range of healthy, delicious meals or snacks - Barkers Café aims to become the eatery of choice for our players and staff and the wider Bulldog community.

The move comes after previous owners of the Pound Café decided to sell the business.

This resulted in the creation of Barkers Café delivered by Letsbark Pty Ltd, a company owned by Kerri O’Toole and Terri Montgomery – who you may also know as the wives of Bulldogs President Peter Gordon and Bulldogs Senior Assistant Coach, Brett Montgomery.

In a fantastic act of generosity to the Club, Kerri with Peter have decided to donate their share of profits from the business venture back to the Bulldogs.

So get on down to Barkers - we hope you enjoy the new Café and we welcome your feedback on what we hope will be your meeting place of choice in the west.

OPENING HOURS:

Weekdays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Sunday: Closed

Sounds great. Once I get my licence soon and more and more experience in my driving I really need to drive out to Footscray and check out the Whitten Oval someday.

Aren't they the twins from The Simpsons?

I love that Kerri and Peter walk the walk. Bravo.

Wow, Peter Gordon putting his hand in his pocket... Just for something different!

There's a good opportunity for the café, Footscray home games offer an additional revenue source the didn't exist 2 years ago. Some smart decisions could make it a real money spinner. Good luck to the two ladies.

Apparently the home games the club makes around $20 g profit . So with an ATM actually working and the cafe selling proper food it might double! :-)
Next year we get 8 games maybe 9 at Whitten Oval.
I have been to everyone this year absolutely love it, can't wait for next season in this regard.

ATM such a major issue, wonder if they can organize mobile ATM's for home games next season?

Had a meeting down at Ashley st this morning which finished around lunchtime, so dropped into Barkers for some lunch. I must say they do a pretty good job compared to previous offering.

I recommend if you are in the area to drop in and it also helps the club. They will be a bit busy tomorrow though. :)

Went past the Barkers cafe on my way in on Saturday. Unfortunately the ATM was at of action so I couldn't get any food but next time I go to WO will try it if I have coins and noted on me. The prices looked decent there as well.

Fantastic. Had some issues with the last cafe. So that's the cafe sorted and the cheersquad. Peter is really getting things in order.

Right you are.
I took the old man to the museum and to watch training over some banana bread last year. Some bloke with tattoos was going off at the junior staff, who were just kids and not very happy. The vibe wasn't good.

That ATM works properly about as often as Liam Jones! They really need to do something about it.

I wonder if Gordon & Montgomery made a profit out of the sale. Which is absolutely fine, but interesting.

It's a funny figure-250 106. Why not 250 000 or 255 000?

Why would that be? Add on for stock at hand maybe?

It may simply be what it was valued at independently.

Barkers seems to be a meeting place now whereas before it was just a footy cafe.
