I've wanted to make the MCG for years after I made a life size Premiership cup a few years ago (which I put red, white and blue ribbons on) and finally got around to it, my boss used to play for Melbourne so told me one of the teams had to be the Demons, but I think you will agree that would not nearly have been as much fun.

It's wonderful ReLoad, how long did it take. Every time I look at it I see more detail.

I don't really want to hijack any threads, least of all one thanking the woofers who have worked hard this year, but to summarise:

The model is 1m deep by 2m wide.
It took about 120 hours to build
It has approx. 75,000 bricks in it.
It weighs approx 80kgs give or take.
The model was approx 4 months from idea to completion.

There is (secret - as Myer are running a guessing competition with it) minifigs in it. It holds the record for the most minfigis on it in a model in the southern hemisphere, beaten only by the soccer world cup stadium at LEGOland in Germany and the LEGO Olympic stadium in London.

I've been wanting to build the MCG for years, but have always put it off due to its size and the complexity of the build, so it was great to get the opportunity to build it. I decided upon my trademark classic cutaway so you can see what is happening in the stadium.

I hope you enjoy all the little jokes, there is plenty in there.

For the record the guy taking a screamer is Liam Jones - he better not freakin let me down!

As a parent with young kids into lego and who has just recently been to LEGOLAND in Malaysia, I can certainly say that your work here is world class.

That must of cost a small fortune to make?
Usually costs about a dollar per piece at the shops.

Don't think of it as a LEGO set with put this piece sort of thing, its not like that at all.

Models like the Bulldog here have some structure in them bade from bricks, they certainly are not solid, we would be broke and it would weigh a ton!

Having made both the dog, the premiership cup and the dogs winning on grand final day in Myer, im starting to run out of bulldog related things, hopefully that will change one day when we smash 'em at the big dance :)
