Someone in the hawks media unit put up a prerecorded interview with Frawluey in a Hawks polo this morning. Someone realised that they weren't meant to announce it until this week officially, so they took it down. So it's as good as official.

Sydney receive a second round pick as compensation.
Taking into account his age 30, it must be a very lucrative contract.
Apparently he has signed a three year deal at $500 grand per year.
Is it just me, or this year is the compensation clubs receive a bit more generous than last year?

With the amount of contract speculation around anyway surely there is no reason the AFL simply can't release the criteria set for each band?

Last year Nick Dal Santo (at 29) got a 3 year deal for around $450k/yr to move to North. St Kilda received Band 3 compensation. (second round pick). Given that, Malceski at 30 getting a 3 year deal for around $500k/yr seems to justify the Band 3 compensation.

Interesting that Carlton are seemingly happy to part with pick 7 for Jaksch and pick 19. Some of the fire-sale discussions on Liam Jones, re: he's worth nothing more than a 3rd rounder are now put into perspective when a far less-credentialed young KPP is commanding a pick 7. I hope we convince Jones to stay with us rather than take a crap trade.

I agree sedat. Jones is not that far away from being a decent player. If he can become a consistent performer he is quite a handy player who has proven that he can compete at the top level. Jaksch on the other hand has proven that he needs to improve massively before he can make the grade.

It's the value of the unknown principle. Jaksch was a highly rated junior who people haven't seen much of, so he's still rated on the potential of what he MIGHT do. Jones has been around long enough now for teams to value him on what he CAN'T do. Hence Jones has far less market value than the lesser known quantity in Jaksch.

Understand the rationale on Jacksh, but when you've fallen behind the GWS KPP pecking order even of stringbeans like James Stewart and Cam McCarthy, there really should be red flags raised at other clubs.

Even though our back line resembled a thouroughfare, I thought Stewart looked impressive.
Good below his knees and mobile.
I'd heard jacksch ( spelling) rocked up late to our interview?
O'rourke has had a lot of injuries, but it's a good deal for a Hawthorn who are in that wheelhouse as a pick below 10 is to much but 19 is good business

As the Aints offload Stanley, they have to be near certainties to pick Up McCartin. Petracca to Dees. If they take both Petracca and Brayshaw, Wright or Durdin may be available by pick 6. If Griffen/Boyd trade doesn't happen, but we offload Griff for #4 and a player we could be certain of snaggng either Wright or Durdin.

Their delistings seem to have a common pattern thus far. Players who have talent, but have been on the periphery/haven't been able to establish themselves. The age breakup all points to the next bracket coming through.
Can't help but think that many previous contracts may have been back-loaded to keep the great team together, and that now this might be starting to pinch the next generation?

Yes, Wells and co. must've seen a bit in him back in 2011 to trade out their deep round 1 selection. Interesting that they chose him seven spots earlier than us grabbing Talia at #39. They also had him ahead of Kersten.
Seems quite mobile for a KPD but still very much lacking in body strength to hold this role down. Adding another KPD in development phase with a question mark, i.e. with Talia, Roberts, even Redpath, will need to be very carefully considered.
