Jason Macartney might just become the best appointment ever in the history of our club. I thought the way he held his nerve and delivered Stu Crameri was terrific but organising the Boyd trade this year was even better.
Well done Jmac and thanks.

He needs a fitting nickname. J-Mac isn't worthy.

Jason's career and history to this point have been remarkable and he continues to be remarkable.

Very good to have gotten us two genuine forwards in the last two years - I know it may sound negative, but I would have liked a sweetener back on the Boyd deal, a 3rd or 4th rounder (or both)

I can't think of a trade of this magnitude ever happening. Biggest trade into our club ever?
Our first Million dollar player.
Seems huge right now - to be giving a young fella 7 years, and reportedly a million a year (aside from next year when he is on the AFL_defined bucks ($180K plus match payments I think). But all going to plan - the term is completely fine and in 4-5 years time - a million bucks won't be that outrageous for a key fwd in the AFL.

Eagleton was seen as a huge deal at the time

Paper wraps rock..... but then "Paper" isn't great as a nickname. :)

Been a massive improvement on the previous person who was supposedly in charge of list management.

But in this case, the Rock owns the paper (that the deal is written on…) ;)

Jokes aside, I've been a big fan of JMac's work. Very methodical, does his homework and generally delivers on what he targets with a minimum of fuss. I'm very comfortable with JMac at the helm of our trade period discussions.

The hunter could become the hunted. The big clubs might try to recruit our recruiter.

Hope so. A sign of a healthy organisation is building talent that others want.

I liken the Boyd deal to the Alister Lynch deal. Hopefully at the end it seems like a steal.
