Western Bulldogs Head of Development Chris Maple updates westernbulldogs.com.au on the progress of senior listed players who have started the year with Footscray.

Shane Biggs
Back from hamstring injury and he’s doing really well. Shane has found his feet at half back, he’s a real rebounder out of defence. He uses the ball really well and had 30 possessions last week so he’s doing a good job.

Tom Campbell
Tom had a shoulder reconstruction over the off-season and he’s coming back into really good form. He’s going to be a real force up front for us at VFL level and we’re looking to see him push that form through to AFL.

Bailey Dale
Bailey is going really well. We’ve seen a lot of improvement in him from the start of pre-season. He’s a good runner, a good ball-user, his drop of ball work’s exceptional.

Declan Hamilton
Declan is a clever, small forward/winger. He is adapting to men’s footy at the moment and is coming along nicely.

Joel Hamling
Joel’s holding down key defensive posts, playing on some big names at the VFL level and doing really well. He’s adding some rebound to his game and he’s an exciting prospect.

Lachie Hunter
Lachie is playing really good footy. He’s getting quite a lot of the footy, he’s playing in various roles, a bit inside, playing on a wing and playing as a forward. His work rate’s been fantastic, he’s concentrating really on using the ball well and he’s doing that. He is knocking on the door.

Toby McLean
Toby is playing a variety of roles. He has some real talent and he’s a real excitement-machine when he’s up and about. He is also working hard on the defensive part of his game.

Daniel Pearce
Playing at half back, Daniel is playing a good rebounding role, using the ball well and showing that he’s got quite a lot of intensity and desire to play at the AFL level.

Josh Prudden
Josh is playing a different role at the moment, down in the backline. We like his ball use, we like the way he reads the play and his decisions so Josh is coming along nicely and off the back of quite a few injuries it’s nice to see him out there and playing footy.

Roarke Smith
Roarke is playing well as a defender, he’s got a fantastic leap. He is just learning to get more of the footy and use the ball. Roarke is a really great kid, who understands what he’s got to do now and is training hard.
