I couldn't see us, I never thought to look at the 2.10pm Saturday time slot.

It's just good to see the round opening with a night game involving Collingwood, Carlton, or Richmond for a change. 6 rounds into the season and one of those 3 teams have featured in every one of them, and on 2 occasions both of them

Great for footy isn't it. I would have preferred Carlton V Brisbane but you can't get your wish every week. :p

Surely in 2016 we get at least 1 Friday night match.

Astounding this match up isn't happening tonight.

A few interesting games this week, will be good to see how the Suns respond to a horror week, whilst Richmond could/should make the game against North a bruising encounter.

After getting such a hard run with the umps last week it took Pies supporters 9 minutes to start the bronx cheer. This week they broke that at about the 7 1/2 minute mark. Well done.

Cats on fire early. Blicavs such a unique player rucking and running with Pendles.

Cruel blow to Cowan. Even if he played for Essendon and still feel gutted for him.

Pies getting smashed at the moment. Looking very ordinary. Geelong are finding lots of free space.

57-9 midway through the 2nd.

Got that tip so good start to the round. Thought I'd get close to the margin as well but Cats kicked away late.

I thought Stanley did well tonight as their #1 ruck. Hardly won a hit out but did get quite a few possessions and provided some good run. What's happening with the ruck position now? Is the position dying a slow death?

Pies played a half decent side and got found out , gee they rely on Swan and Pendelbury a lot when it's tough.

The traditional tap ruck man certainly seems on the way out.

Blicavs & Stanley won't scare most opposition rucks with their tap work, but they are both ultra mobile and Blicavs in particular was superb around the ground and in defence, filling the hole.

I can see Bevo drooling over such a set up.

I was fantasizing about something like that in the 4th quarter. Blicavs would be a great fit for us.

Nights like tonight really underpin the Tom Boyd trade for me. THE KID CAN KICK STRAIGHT!!!!! That alone could be the difference between winning or losing 2 - 8 or god knows how many games a year. Travis Cloke, Buddy Franklin, Tom Hawkins are all toss of the coin shots on goal.

Always good to hear that Collingwood lost.. I watched the soccer.

We win today and we go to 2nd and set up a top of the table clash next week... Didn't think that would happen going into rd1.

Agreed was thinking the exact same things. Scott seems to have cottoned on to how we are using Bont. Blicavs played a similar role last night and was probably BOG.

Incredible to think. It's only a small thing but it just adds to the importance of winning today, we need to be on our game to keep the buzz around the club going.

Hawks were almost 5 goals up at one stage.

We shouldn't have lost, but I'm prepared to wear this one and put it down to a young team continuing to learn hard lessons. We were on average over a year younger and had played almost 40 less games per player than the Saints.

Saints also had 7 players with over 100 games experience vs just our 2. This wasn't a case of us being upstaged by an ultra young side. We lacked leadership in the second half, and the numbers prove why.

Seven players over 100 games to 2, says a lot .

They've destroyed every game this season by half time and have coasted to the line - I wouldn't be relying on their 'tiredness' as a factor next week.

I know it's an old cliche but how even is the competition this year? Apart from Freo obviously. It seems that if any team takes its foot of the pedal for a moment it will get gobbled up by the opposition.

Liam Jones a set shot from 40 to give the Blues a sniff after a pretty courageous mark. Massive shank.

It shouldn't still annoy me, he's someone else's problem now, but it frustrates me seeing him not reach his potential. I thought the sky would be his limit.

You missed the part where he took the mark with 50 secs on the clock, took up about 25 and then missed. Everything.

Blues fans have turned on him in a big way. I'd be steering clear of social media and footy forums for a while if I were him.

He looked to rush back to take his kick then just slowed down. Don't know what he was thinking. Even if he kicked truly they probably didn't have enough time to get another. I don't like putting blame on guys in the final moments. I'm sure there are plenty more players at that club that need a rocket for their play over the entire match.

Opened up my Facebook to two posts that had me in stitches.

One from a mate who's a Carlton supporter and declared "If I had a membership I'd tear it up."

The other from my dear mother proclaiming my Dad's "mate Jonesy. Never lets us down".

An AFL player trains all week, with all the kicking coaches, psychologists and others. It's surprising when some don't even score from that distance and angle.

Some can cope and some can't and it is part and parcel of being a professional sportsman. He just doesn't seem to have the temperament to compete at the level. I'm not even sure he has the skill set either now....
