This is the round 8 edition of the Weekly Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the game against Melbourne is concluded post your nominations for:
The Bankers = 3 guys that you we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys that weighed us down by their errors or poor play
Please limit it to no more than three of each, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.
Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match.
The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

Roughy going into the ruck....might work if we can cover him down back.
Dahlhaus' effort never wanes
Blokes in good form at Footscray ready to come into the side
A:
Two poor games in a row from Jongy. Time to get some touches with Footscray
Stringer's set shots. Have really become a liability.
Work rate non existent today. Looked flat and tired.

Bankers
Dahl - never stops giving.
Roughead - he gave us first use when he went into the ruck.
Roberts - took some nice contested marks.
Anchors
Boyd - 1 handball up to half time is Liam Jones like. Unacceptable
Lin Jong - we have missed his line breaking dash for 3 weeks now. He didn't play one of those weeks and shouldn't have the other 2.
MC - stop trying to be fancy. Play our best 22 fullstop.

Bah missed that one. I knew it was him though, he's got a mean bump.

Bankers:
Dahl - I know many others have gone with this but he was a beacon for his effort and relentlessness. Shame he had so few mates
Stringer - For that banana along the ground
Nathan Jones - For passing the ball to Stringer for that banana along the ground
Anchors:
Bob - For that pass in the 4th, straight to a Demons player inside the 50. Very un-Bob like
Bont - His quiet patch is starting to stretch on a little too long
Not sure when a team has had 80+ tackles and still managed to make it feel like they didn't get anywhere near enough pressure on the opposition

B. 1. Luke Dahlhaus. Never stops trying.
2. The Women's game, they can play.
3. The sky. It was nice and blue, and I enjoyed seeing it.
Anchors
1. You can be philosophical about it, you can be polite and patient about it, you can think long term about it, you can try and think laterally about it. BUT. The Ayce Cordy 'experiment' stinks. And it's not good for him either. Resentment towards him is building in the crowd, the bronx cheers are starting, and it's going to become more and more unpleasant.
2. Modern football. Short handball under pressure to team mate under pressure who is then gang tackled and manages a Short handball under pressure to team mate under pressure who is then gang tackled and manages a Short handball under pressure to team mate under pressure who is then gang tackled and manages a Short handball under pressure to team mate under pressure who is then gang tackled.UMPIRE BLOWS WHISTLE.... BALL UP. Repeat for 4 quarters. That game was painful to watch.
3. Cheap food at the MCG? TRy $6.70 for 2 dim sims.

I got a bucket of chips and water for $7.50
Bankers:
Roughead when he was in defence. Held us together. As soon as he went in the ruck we struggled down back.
Boyd - One of the few to make good decisions and use the ball well.
Dahlhaus - never gives up in the contest.
Anchors
Bonti - can't work through the tag at this stage. Is really struggling and got a bath.
Jong - Playing one short with him in the team at the moment. Replace with Macrae and/or Hrovat immediately.
Crameri & Stringer - Too many missed opportunities and didn't appear to be working hard enough - as we rarely had anyone to kick to coming out of defence.

He's just not the same since the injury. Maybe give him a spell for a week or two until he's fully healed. He was a key part of this team early on, hope he bounces back.
9 touches, playing as a midfielder. Really not much of a contribution.
We really left Wallis and Dahlhaus to do all of the heavy lifting yesterday. As someone suggested earlier - staggering that Macrae was left out if we were lacking mids (Dickson, Stringer, Crameri all having to go through there at times.). Thought Koby spent far too much time forward, or outside on a wing, when he could have given us something in the middle.
Speaking of Koby - is he invisible out there or something. Several times he had space in the middle of the ground and we didn't kick to him.

Roberts - certainly can take some good marks.
Mentions to Talia and Roughead still have a lot of work to do but I thought at times they did some good things.

Bankers
Dahlhaus - was great all game, must be close to leading the best and fairest count at the moment. Been really impressed by how much of an impact he's having all over the ground this season.
Wallis - Great endeavour, and one of the better set shots in the team. Took a heavy knock and continued to fight hard. Much better game than the one last week
Roughhead - solid down back and good in the ruck when needed.
Anchors
Stringer's set shots - for his first couple of games for the club I seem to remember him being a good set shot. Not anymore - looks completely devoid of confidence.
Jong - Seems to be playing injured. A shame as he was sensational in the first couple of games
Cordy - not doing enough around the ground at the moment to make up for his deficiencies in the ruck.
