View Full Version : Our next 2 weeks before our bye

We have 2 tough matches over the next 2 weeks with first GWS at home and then Port over in Adelaide. What would make us satisfied going into the bye after these 2 matches. Would like to win both but I'll take 1 win out of 2.

Not sure how we will fare. It all depends on what team decides to turn up. We can win both.

We will be the underdogs this week which seems to suit us. There is no doubt we can match it with the best teams in the comp.

I will go out on a limb here - if J Grant plays we will win both games.

After the bye we have 3 very winnable matches if we get our act together and play for each other.

GWS will make mince meat of us at home. It won't be pretty. We would have to do a complete 180 and they would have to do a complete 180 for us to snatch it, just seems very unlikely. I think Port will come good against us over there as well. They put in a shocker against the Tiges and will be looking to make amends in front of their fans when the meet us. The bye probably won't come soon enough.

Different opposition, venue, motivation, structure, plan, support etc. Hang in there. There's enough variables to hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Our lads have shown that there's fight in there when we might least expect it.

Or we'll come out and play like we did against Richmond/Sydney/WCE/Freo/Adelaide and we'll have a win. Thats the fun thing about this season, it's just so unpredictable to know what we'll get.

I'm not upset by the Saints or Melbourne match. I realise we have a very young team and are developing a completely new game plan. Inconsistency is expected, it's just where we are at. Hopefully we've set ourselves up for a big match and we can put in a better showing than we did against the Dees.

I think we got ahead of ourselves mentally after the Swans win and I am hopeful that the last 3 weeks will get the mind set back where it was when we beat those fancied teams earlier in the season.

I expect us to be competitive, but don't think we'll beat GWS or Port.

Only a lunatic would try and predict how we will go but we will definitely win both games.

A lot of confidence there Twodogs. Yeah I'm not sure to b honest how this week or next will go. I hope though even if we don't get the points that we at least put in a good 4qtr performance and that will make me happy. I bet will really come out strong against GWS.

Kids are tiring a bit of late. Particularly our inside mids like Bont and Jong. The absence of Libba and Wallis for a time has put a burden on those two. Hopefully we can get up for those games, but i really do feel the bye would've come in very, very hanfy this week.

Nonetheless, i hope a vocal (and angry) crowd can lift the team to a strong one this weekend.

Jong playing injured the past two weeks hasn't helped. Bontempelli has now become a marked player in the midfield due to his class.
It might be time to return Matthew Boyd now to the midfield given the losses of Libba, Griffen and Cooney from last year. Hopefully Macrae and Hrovat coming back this week will assist plus you would think Campbell to replace Cordy.

Don't mind that thinking. Boyd into midfield with Webb taking the half back flank.

Hopefully its a good day for him tomorrow Webby. Debutants it can be good for some and not so good for others.
