Went to the game, sat in aisle 25, level 3 behind the goals with my middle daughter who lost her doggies beanie and wanted lots of junk food. This is what I saw:

4. Wallis - Highly creative ball user with his hands in close.
3. Stringer - because he gives us so many options
2. Bonti - Dalrymple mentioned they picked him for those long arms, and they give him just an extra half second.
1. Hunter - Clearly enjoying his foot
2.Wallis
1. Jake Stringer. Cult player already. That dashing run for the entry between two kanga players was incredible.

How fantastic is it that the astute judges here on Woof have seen fit to nominate eligible recipients for the Ron James Medal as the vote getters in the Joe Marmo Medal. Liam Picken is the only nominee in the Marmo who is not eligible for the James and he has received only a couple of votes. We are in a seriously good phase of our footy club right now.

4. Bont - just crucial break-away-from-the-pack-then-perfect-disposal so many times. Judd like. Judd in his prime that is.
3. Hunter - another great week round the packs. Running hard defensively. Only knock is can't hand ball on his non-dominant. I would have said Hunter was going to be a good HFF but never midfield - kudos to Bevo and coaching staff.
2. Macrae - lots of terrific stuff. that centering kick to Dickson the highlight.
0.5 Stinger - some great plays but that run in the last quarter.... wow!
0.5 Wally - great all game. leader.

4. Bontempelli - Real stand out. Huge impact.
3. Stringer - created havoc. Real headache for the north defenders, and given Redpath's role saw him out of the forward line a lot, String's ability to work around the forwardline often outnumbered and still find the footy 21 times was great.
2. Hunter - ball magnet, involved in some good chains.
1. Wallis - part of a midfield that belted their more experienced opposition.

Great point Ozza. I thought it was disingenuous by Scott not to acknowledge how good our young boys were, claiming their midfield was a 'bit off'. I can't stand it when credit is not given to opposition.
