2016 Membership Thread - Can we break the current all time Bulldog record again

Great effort by the club, aim for 45,000 in 2017.

Then try for 50,000 in 2018.

Good to see we aren't the lowest Victorian club this season! We have gone passed St Kilda and Melbourne. In the coming years we will also go past Norf who's number will begin to tumble after this season.

We have a lot of passionate Bulldog people out there and it has shown with our record membership figure. I have seen quite a few around lately which is great.

I usually grab a coffee at Whitten Oval at some point on Thursday's....if we aren't at 40K yet - I'll chuck in $55 for one of the cheapy memberships! - I'll put it in the name of my (cats supporting) wife....she'll like that. It's a square up for her putting her cats membership on my credit card!!

So up to 2000 people will get the pick of the clubs allocation of seats. I don't like it personally, it bumps the rest of us down to crappier seats should we make the grand final, rather than a random chance. Guess the club has to make a buck anyway it can though.

I feel so proud to be a member of the Western Bulldogs. Congratulations to all who've worked so hard to bring this about. Congrats to all members, old and new, for being part of the record breaking year. All on board are getting a great ride for their money. I spoke with Bailey Dale last night and he mentioned the players were told that most of the memberships over the past month were Premiership Golds from people jumping on late for a possible Grand Final ticket. Also said he is 189 cm and has grown 6 cm since being drafted.

Because people are still buying them. There is a cutoff of July 1st for Grand Final ticket distribution (the AFL compares the number of Full Adult members of the 2 GF teams when deciding the split of club member tickets), but the clubs don't stop selling memberships after this date and those members are still eligible for finals tix.

This happens every year at clubs that are a chance to play in the Grand Final - scalpers load up on memberships at those clubs in the hope to score GF tickets that they then sell at greatly inflated prices. It's only illegal if you get caught, and it's easy not to.
