The audio down the bottom is well worth a listen. Talks about his shock at the level of passion at the club - has met with over 800 people in recent months. Lots of interesting stuff about Ballarat, Etihad etc.

Recruiting quality youngsters plays a big part in it as well. Over the last 4 years we have done very well with our recruiting and they should be able to see an exciting future. If you enjoying going to work and believe there is a good future people aren't as inclined to be looking elsewhere.

If this was BMac's (not JMac) philosophy it certainly didn't work out for him: Griffen, Higgins, Jones, Tutt, Cooney.

Too bad he didn't create the right environment. ;)

That was a good way to spend 17 or 18 min.. Really impressive speaker who seems well suited to taking our club forward.

In all seriousness though out of the players you mentioned only Griffen is a loss.

I am well aware of that. The best player exodus ever.

Yep, sounds like a quality addition. Good voice for radio too btw.

Maybe these players needed to go to create the good environment.

Shocktober marked the end of a toxic mix. These things happen, most of us will have seen things like this in our workplaces. I think there were a few left but they pulled their heads in once the toxic environment dissipated.
Cost Macca his job, perhaps he should not have had his contract extended in the first place. But his sacrifice cleared the air and it is interesting, there is at least one senior lister who was probably a bit of a player in the lead up to the crisis who hasn't exactly fared that much better under the new coach.

Minno?
Yeah, just take a look at all of our vets left. Murphy & Boyd have always come across like they want to look out for the kids, Morris doesn't come across as the type to fall for cliquey bullshit and Picken has always been pretty mature guy thanks to having to make his way into the team from the state leagues and having kids will only help. Minno was reportedly pretty tight with Higgins & Cooney who were not exactly mature leaders that you want at a club along with Minno having a bad tendency to put his foot in his mouth.

Back to Stevenson, I appreciate him for picking up on some key stats and quoting them. Shows he's getting into our game.

There were of course rumours about a little run in with Koby as well, but who knows what really happened.

Looking back, it does seem there was a bit of a toxic SA clique that developed through the Eade/Macca years, when you put together Cooney, Grypphon, Lake and Minson. All great Bulldogs in their own way, but collectively it seems like they were pretty hard work.
