Juicy little article. If Dixon or Bennell fall injured in the near future, I'm calling 2 + 2.

Thanks T and T
If they try and cover it up like that, it will do more harm than good.

I believe so. Saw some snippets of him on the weekend.

Just going to suggest that missing all of the pre-season and round one from breaking a finger catching a frisbee appears pretty suss.

There has been an awful lot of speculation and plain obsufacation about that fairly trivial injury. He somehow broke it catching a frisbee or his dog bit it or he was playing in a non club sanctioned 20/20 cricket match.

Clubs take chances, some come off some don't .. Buddy and aker worked. More dont than do but if you can get their head right it's a huge plus!
Also let's face it I'm not sure all of us could handle the pressure, media at that age.
The things we did when young after a footy match would get you sacked nowadays, kids can't even have one beer now without the media saying it was an all night binge.

Who is this?
Jeremy Howe moved from Melbourne to Collingwood and and there is speculation that he concocted a story to explain a broken finger

He's yet to make any sort of body contact in his career thus far so a month and a half shouldn't worry him. ;)

clayton was going to pick Krakour for us if Everitt was gone.
That was when I was convinced he had lost the plot as a recruiter.

The original article http://www.sportingnews.com/list/469...s/slide/445216 rumoured that a player that could be Bennell could be a chronic drug taker and that rather than call him out, his club would fain an injury to him.

I doubt they would go to the lengths of faining an injury during a game to hide a 'chronic drug problem'... which I doubt very much he has anyway.

Beams missed about 16 weeks in 2012 with an apparent recurring quad strain.

If you read the article the rumour was that he changed sides because of chronic drug use and his new team would retire him off completely, end of career for continued drug use over the off season but feign it was injury. The injury story would help all parties save face. The rumour was started before he was left out in round 1. My comment was tongue in cheek but who knows?

For clarity there was no player actually named in the article.
