I have a couple I use .. Maybe we can find a few diamonds in the rough.
caleb Daniel= the candy man
Jack Redpath = the widow maker
A few obvious ones with the Bont and the glove, the package and the specimen or grizz.
Any favourites or others we know of or ones we have for them?

My favourites:

Joel Hamling = The Hammer Of The Dogs

Last year in one of Toby McLean's early games, he ran to the 50 for a shot at goal and my old man was searching for his name....and forgetting 'Toby'...exclaimed "Knackers McLean!!!" as Toby kicked the goal.

For whatever reason, that has stuck a bit for us, and I've laughed hearing other people in our area at home games lauding the efforts of "Knackers".

So for a very unofficial nickname.....I submit Knackers McLean.

Others we subscribe to are;

Suckling = Piggy or The Pig.
Caleb Daniel = just "Little Bloke!" (but always in an appreciative way!)
Honeychurch = SWEET JESUS!
Hamling = Hammer

And Adcock is called "ROCKLIFF!!" with us on account of a friend getting the names wrong.

Joel Hamling is always Hamlet to me.

Caleb Daniel is The Sontaran (ref: Dr Who).

I have been happy to adopt The Woodchopper ('Chopper for short) for Redpath (channel 7 commentators), likewise The Package for Jake Stringer.

Napoleon and Pedro for Wallis and Liberatore.

Daniels - wee man (dwarf from Jackass)
Redpath - Big Red
Hamling - Hammer
Stevens - Straight lines (no peripheral vision, so he's better if he just runs in straight lines. A bit cruel I know but somehow it has stuck with amongst mates)
Stringer - Jakey, Package, beast, freak
Bontempelli - The Bont, OMG, and sometimes just silence because words can't describe what I just saw.
Suckling - Pig, piggy
Wood - Clint
McLean - Knackers (Thanks Ozza, I can't wait to use it when he returns from injury)
Webb - Spider
Minson - Mince

Some silly ones in there but I often go silly at the footy:p

Apart from Sweet Jesus for Honeychurch, which Ozza mentioned, we also refer to him as Bees Knees (as in position when praying).

And for Hamling "Hamlet".

And have used Ghimli or Mighty Mouse for Caleb. I do hope he is OK with these assorted nicknames - I wonder how much the players hear from the sidelines, if he was offended in any way it would be horrible. Such a talent....so wonderful to have on our list.

For those who do not look at big footy website, there is a great thread title for our wonderful Caleb. I find it funny, although not politically correct - as in possibly offensive to short people. Title has been modified recently to be opposite of original and had a chuckle at this too. One poster over there loves Caleb and calls him Little Diego...

I'm not claiming any credit - should have made that clear, sorry - there was a great thread here a few years ago complete with separated at birth comparison photos - that's where I picked it up.

I like "Who's House? Dahlhaus".

I call Matty Boyd "Bucks" due to his ~3 years of cosplaying as him when he was captain.

Boyd's 30 metre stab pass bullets were very Buckley-esque, except for the hitting targets part. Good to see his bullet pass addiction only rears its head once or twice every few weeks now.

They were so low they didn't even get off the ground.

I see some of the passes he pulls off today and think 'why did you never do this when you we getting 40 touches a game?'

The constant references and jokes about Caleb Daniel's height irk me, but not enough to keep me from going "Halfman" like he's actually Tyrion on the Blackwater every time he gets the ball.

Reminds me of the 1986 World Series, and the Red Sox fans serenading Daryl Strawberry...Daryl, Daryl, Daryl, Daryl.

Then it was repeated by Bart and Lisa Simpson in the episode Homer At The Bat.
