First home Friday night game since 2012 - Go Dogs!

Yes we have had Friday night games this year but not home games. Our first home game on a Friday night in quite a while.

Stupid Giants. Could cost us a home final

GWS have got Norf last round. That is no certainty for them. West Coast have a tough run home I have us finishing 5th if Norf beat GWs or 6th if they don't.

Still have us finishing 6th.

WC won't win 2 out of 2.

They just beat the Giants in Sydney, i can see them beating Hawks in domain. Crows in Adelaide will be tough but they showed tonight they could do it.

I am actually okay with Eagles winning today. It might increase the risk of us missing out on a home final but it increases our chances of sneaking into the top 4 but more importantly, increases chances of playing a semi final at the MCG (Geelong sneaking into the top 4 and losing).

Giants younglings may have hit the wall. Seriously poor last week against an ordinary Gold Coast and lost to the West Coast Roadkill today. It'll make their round 23 clash against North at Etihad very interesting.

Had a sneaky that the Eagles would win . I thought GWS were very unimpressive against an undermanned Gold Coast last week .

Maybe the blow torch will actually get applied to Port if this game finishes the way it's started.

That Eagles win is yet another Steve in tbe rollercoaster that is 2016.

If Geelong win against Richmond tomorrow they'll probably finish 4th.

5th, 6th and 7th areare a raffle at the moment. Absolutely cannot drop the ball in the next 2 weeks. If we want a home final we must win both the next 2 games.

I can easily see GWS and WC dropping their Round 23 games. If they do ask eyes will be on us on the Sunday.

Yep, less interstate teams in the top 4 the better.

Interesting if WC and GWS drop one.

If we win both, we take 5th and play North at the G.

Would never happen, but tanking against Freo to guarantee a home final against WC is an interesting prospect.

Say North were playing the Eagles at Etihad next week, who would you pick? Very line ball, same/same to me. Yes it will be at the G, but North are better at Etihad anyway.

Also, if we can't beat North at the MCG, we simply do not deserve to make it to week 2.

North match up on us ok and I'd hate to lose to them in a final. Would prefer to play WC in Melbourne every day of the week.

Well, that's obvious :)

Match ups are weird. North are one team that are tricky. I'd still be confident, but not as much as I would be playing WC.

5th has us playing loser of 1st v 4th in the 2nd week, so likely Hawks or Cats, then onto either Adelaide or Sydney. Tough however you look at it.

I don't care who we play as long as it's not WC in Perth. Imagine how many free kicks Shuey will get over there for a slight brush of the neck. Fair dinkum that bloke is a dead-set submarine - sniff a tackle coming and it's batten the hatches and "dive, dive, dive." Makes Selwood look like a paragon of virtue. It's high time the umpires are instructed not to pay these gossamer-soft free kicks. To continue doing so is a blot on the game. If I want to see a stage performance, I go to a theatre.

Sport has been compared to theatre but I, for one, don’t want the MCG to become a cauldron in which the "masters of the dive" are able to ply their dubious skills with gay abandon, safe in the knowledge that their obedient accolytes, the umpires, are going to come rushing forward, whistle trilling, to gift a goal to a sly, cunning, sneak.

And, BTW, Toby McLean does NOT dive. It just so happens that every time he gets the ball in a congested situation, he is surrounded by much taller players who lack the agility to tackle him fairly and so resort to illegitimate tactics to thwart him. No Bulldogs players dive. It is against their nature. Bulldogs are up-front and aggressive. They are not dodgy, shady types who wait around corners, ready to snipe, or sleight of neck merchants ready to contort their bodies into unnatural positions in order to milk free kicks from umpires WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!!
