Same for me. I alternated between Smith and Dunkley because they were both so vital when the Hawks had the upper hand.

4 Bont - hard to go past him - was outstanding. The best player I have seen in the red white and blue
3 Picken - scored them when they mattered.
2 Macrae - with Libba & Caleb down he stepped into the breach - great game
1 Stringer - quality...not his best be a definite step forward (apologies Smith - you were superb)

4. Bontempelli - has now stamped himself indelibly into AFL footy finals history with such an influential performance.
3. Macrae - His qualities aren't as overt as some of his teammates, but they're immense to how well our complete structure around the ball works.
2. Picken - great finals performance
1. Dunkley -He's really not getting enough kudo's in the media for the role that he's been performing for most of the season. He's an 18 year old kid who has been able to play serious minutes in an inside mid role.
Apols to so many
4. Bonts
3. Macrae
2. Picken
1. Roughead
4. Bontempelli - I don't know where the stats finished up - but at one point he had gotten to 8 clearances, which was double the next best on the ground. But more than that, it was the big moments, the influence and inspiration. The most significant performance by a bulldog in my lifetime.
3. Macrae - was just everywhere, particularly the third quarter. Such an important link man - and excellent disposal.
2. Picken - What a finals hero he has been.
1. Dunkley - could have raffled this one - but in the first half he was huge when things weren't quite going our way. Had 6 or 7 inside 50s to half time, 15 possessions and a goal and his work rate back and forth was enormous.
Apologies to Rough, Hunter, Clay, Hamling, Dahlhaus, Suckling....

Yes mine too. Macrae is so critical to us. He is huge.

It was a super even performance. All players played really well. I thought Zaine Cordy was ok too, despite some criticism. He is developing very well. Played his role, and Hargrave-like, lanky toughness. Invaluable experience.

Yep, his opponents in McGovern & Gibson were absolute non factors in both finals.

Next stop Heath Shaw? That guy has cut us up more than any other opposition player I can remember, needs to be shut down.

4 - Macrae - most influence I've seen him have on a game since his 43 touches vs the Gold Coast. He was huge in the third term when the game was on the line, kept running all game long and had some really important touches.
3 - Bontempelli - monkey is off the back, that was a big time performance in a big final. Loved seeing him floor Hodge.
2 - Smith - game high 10 tackles for the second week in a row. Those two goals in the second quarter showed leadership. His teammates walk 10 inches taller for having him out there.
1 - Dunkley - what a performance in a final for a first year player. Was best on ground at half time.
always right

4. Bont.......one of the key differences between this team and our most recent prelim finals teams (apart from toughness). He imposes himself on the game like no-one who has ever played for us.
3. Macrae.......just accumulates and this week his ball use was excellent. Some of his handballs from the bottom of the pack were incredible.
2. Picken......heart and soul. Has turned into an excitement machine.
1. Hunter.......could have been Roughy or Smith or Dunkley. His constant hard running and neat disposal was great all night.
