Apart from the fact we didn't actually win the team of the year, we won the most popular team (something like that). The women's rugby 7 team won the main award

I took my lead from ABC News 24. They said 'team of the year'. I guess they got it wrong. Not to denigrate the Women's Rugby 7s team however, in my opinion, they won because they performed on the world stage. I doubt though that the gold medal match was watched by 4.089 million viewers or, that the win was more meritorious than ours when looked at in context.
