Bob Murphy says he'll make decision on another year at end of season

Western Bulldogs skipper Bob Murphy says he and the club will wait until the end of season before having a discussion about him playing on in 2018.

Murphy, who has played 301 games and returned this year from a serious knee injury, said in weighing up his future he'd talk to the club to gauge what its needs were.
"It should be a collaboration, it won't be an, I want, they want," Murphy said on SEN Radio. "It will be a 'what do you think? Let's have a chat'.


"Get through the winter and then see where the cards are."

At the start of the year I thought this was absolutely his last year. Now, I'm like Bob, if at the end of the year he's still a very damaging player (which he is now) then perhaps he plays on. Although if he holds up the cup, I reckon he leaves on a high.

Yes, its a long season - a lot can transpire between now and the end of September.

Based on the first 6 rounds - I'd like him to play on next year - he's certainly good enough. But he's got 16 more matches plus finals - for everyone to get the full picture.
