Adams for his first half was worthy of a vote but can't give one here as he didn't play in the 2nd half.

always right

Back to the bad old days when you awarded votes based on effort rather than performance.

4. Dahlhaus.....unconditional effort from Luke who was almost knocked out.
3. Daniel.....quiet second half but only one who looked interested in the first half.
2. Macrae.....not greatly effective but battled on.
1. Wood.....at least he tried to make something happen in the second half when moved forward

Of the 23 votes cast so far 22 have gone to midfielders who as a group got played completely off the park.

Who do you think our best 4 were?

I don't think anyone won their position so it's a pass from me... Quite a few tried, but that should be a given.

I had 9 players who I thought atleast had a positive that I could try and play up to give votes, but honestly nobody really deserves them this week. The ones I am going with though:

4. Marcus Adams: Per minute of gametime he was our best and probably the only player who was decent. Buddy's shots were generally where either we made a stupid turnover isolating Adams in an awkward spot or where Sydney had so much time to hit him up that Adams never really stood a chance. Also gets credit for intercept marks.
3. Shane Biggs: I don't particularly recall him being mainly responsible for any goals and he wasn't a liability coming out of defence.
2. Jackson Macrae: Worked hard and racked them up, although was part of the midfield unit that got slaughtered at the centre bounces.
1. Fletcher Roberts: Did the jobs he was assigned well, even if they weren't huge challenges. Did nothing with the ball but it's not like he had any competition there.

2. Toby Mclean

Best of a bad lot around the ground. Not out of the centre.

4. Macrae - early in the last quarter, he was still going at 100% effective - which is saying something the way his mates butchered it last night. Turns up every week.
3. Wood - probably coped best with the deluge of inside D50's.
2. McLean - had a real crack.
1. Adams - Was probably our best 1st half player.

As per Mantis' observation - hard to put mids in there when they got trounced - but had to have Macrae - because he just works tirelessly and generally takes care of his team mates in how he distributes the footy.

Tempted to put Adams in despite not playing a half, that's how bad we were

It is tough awarding votes when we were taught a lesson but I agree with these votes. If we had to be shown up, at least it was by our the Swans, the losers in some of our greatest victories. Therefore it was a lesson that a team must renew its vows to the contest and can't rest on past glory. We cannot give in to the pressure of being the continually hunted,

...even though teams are setting themselves to beat us at our own game of intense contest and setting up to spread and run in waves.
