View Full Version : What do we want to see on Saturday?

We have had two heavy defeats in a row and been absolutely terrible.
What do you want to see from our club on Saturday?
I want to see passion playing for the jumper going in hard rattling our local rivals working hard throughout the whole ground defence, midfield, ruck and forward. I'm hoping to see a lot of inside 50s this time hitting up targets and not allowing it to get so congested like yesterday.

World Peace.
The team give a 4 quarter effort.

I want to see intensity, decent execution of basic skills, tackling, intensity, hard running (both ways), pride, passion, intensity....
Did I mention "intensity"?
Oh, and world peace, though I fear that one might be a bit of a stretch.

I want to see the guys come out snarling, and then finish the game smiling & enjoying their footy.

It's quite likely that North will get fired up and come out to bash us, and we'll just wilt again.
Expecting a loss, so I'd just like to see us score at least a goal in each quarter, unlike last week.

Hoping they play better as underdogs with a hunter not hunted approach

Improved scoring, 4 goals a quarter would be a nice change

A win.
Some strings of goals that feel easy, not painfully stitched together.
The Bont to be best on ground.
Actually, if the Bont is best on ground, we're a long way towards the other two. His struggles feel like they mirror the team's.

A team stung by the criticism and question marks over whether 2016 was a fluke.

The 4 points and to not get as easily torched out the back by better structured opposition teams - even Brisbane did this against us for a half.
Better ball movement and higher scoring would be nice as well.

Not so much on Saturday itself, but I the lead up I'd love for someone in three media to call The Bont out and have him respond.

Going back to the basics - see ball, get ball, kick ball (to one of our players); playing forwards in the forward line; hunt in packs.
4 points
It would be three more than we kicked in the first quarter Sunday.

A couple of kids come in, lipenski and Greene maybe and spark a bit of enthusiasm.

And him to react to the faux tough guy he will get from North players this year in the same way he did last year, torch them on the field and then laugh in their face.

Four points at this stage. Anything else is a bonus. That has been the worst two weeks of football since Bevo took over. Previously we bounced back hard after a bad loss so, last week's awfulness was hard to stomach. A convincing, dominant, performance would be the perfect riposte and the spark we need for a strong run home and momentum.

Better ball use, better structure & willingness to work both ways.. Our defence is battling and are getting no help from their team-mates.

I'd like to see Tom Boyd paid a mark when he marks the ball and given a free kick when he is infringed upon in a marking contest.

Tom Boyd has inherited Chris Grant's mantle as the player you can scrag, hold, shove, tunnel, arm chop and block with impunity.

It's funny how other clubs whinge about umpiring and get a soft run the following week isn't it?

A win will do. We should have made our statement against a finals contender like the Dees. Bashing up an average side won't do much for my faith.

A win and i don't care how or how much.

My theory is that Tom doesn't get paid many of the infringements because he tends to drop many marks where there was no infringement so the umps aren't looking as hard. The only exception was the grand final where apart from maybe once he was sticking every mark and showed good hands.

I'm hoping to get a night pass and go out on the lash. Prob catch the Lions match at a friend's place then out to a pub to watch dogs. Dunno.

According to the urban dictionary one doesn't go out on the lash after 60! I didn't know there was a cut off date.
