Free kicks are largely irrelevant, except:

1. If incorrectly paid to a player simulating excessive contact aka "taking a dive" eg Bugg

2. If incorrectly paid due an umpire guessing that fast hands has to equate to a throw eg WB mids every week

2. If never paid to a player infringed in a marking contest - whether it be held, arms chopped or tunnelled eg Tom Boyd

Yep it is the ones they miss.

Yes and that idiot Brayshaw made a song and dance about our being on top in this stat a while ago .

So the 'hard done by' teams (differential of -20+) are sitting 2nd and 6th, while the teams with a positive differential (plus 20+) are sitting 7th, 9th, 15th, 17th and 18th.

Says a lot about the value of the stat.
