Just wondering who has their copy already - and for those who do, how does it compare to last year's copy? (which I have adored). Any particularly interesting articles or extra/replaced stats? Cheerz.

I haven't seen it on sale yet and I was even in Kmart yesterday having a browse for it. I'll add my thoughts on it once I can locate it.

Now you've just insulted all of us :(

I meant to put a smiley after it but then I forgot and you know editing is really hard .
I think we're all of the unspoken understanding that we're all football nerds to varying degrees and indeed posting here probably won't score us any cool points with the hip young kids in their tight jeans. They're all on myspace or face book or whatever's the latest social networking thingy where kids organise their drug parties and listen to emo or grime and then fight police.
I'm indeed a nerd, a dork, a loser even, possibly even the type of person to buy the AFL prospectus (if I had the cash) and I ain't unproud.

I knew what you meant, no offence taken or intended.

One of the best posts I've read was on a thread about "what does your better half think of you posting on an internet forum?"

One response (sorry, no idea who) was "I'm too embarassed to admit it, she thinks I'm looking at porn".

It's funny cos it's true.

Oh yeah I would have said hi to everyone at the east-west day but I was there with my family...:o

face book's more for older folk. MSM is the one.

Techno is more popular than emo

That would mean SS is cool as he is from the stretch Fabrege era.

I find it as a complement if people call me a nerd. :)

It is out today i think. There was something on SEN about it this morning.

Did you see champion data had our rucks and Collingwood's rucks as equal first in the league over the last 3 years. Wierd.

If you want to see it in full it's in the Herald Sun. (you probably know that but...)

If I knew nothing else about champion data and their rankings other than how highly they rate our rucks then i'd agree with you.... but having read their rankings process I know that they frequently research into statistics and their relevance and so have much credibility. Not sure why we are number one in rucking though... Hudson would have a lot to do with it.

You would have to believe in Champ Data looking at your signature

Have just received my prospectus in the mail. Like last year has a summary and stats on all listed players from the past five years.

I think the stats provided in each player summary are the same as in last year's edition. Some really interesting stats on each team's depth and quality in each position - a continuation I expect from what people have been talking about in the herald sun (and they don't say that we have the best rucking division they say we have the most depth).

They again name their official AFL rankings team of the year where Brian Lake is named full-back (and the idiot All-Aus selectors didnt even name him in the nominees), Brad Johnson is named on the right half forward flank and Lindsay Gilbee is named on the bench.

Fantasy Freako is back with an even further in depth analytical section on how to win the fantasy footy comp. including some model teams. They again predict the top 25 2008 draftees where Ayce Cordy is interestingly included. This edition has all the works of last year's plus a bit more.
