WOOF Player Awards RD 14 2019 vs Collingwood

Welcome to the WOOF Player Awards for season 2019, Round 14 clash, Western Bulldogs vs Collingwood.

There are two awards that you can vote on once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm so Shop Early and avoid the rush

The first award is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2019.

I know most probably won't agree with Lippa and Trengove but I thought both were really important for us today and especially in the first half both created play that led to scoring chances that we didn't take. Thought Lippa's hands were crucial in many situations where we got ourselves into trouble.

I do watch from home and from the square box I would have said Dickson looks done. I'd would be interested in the view from the ground as I don't mind him as a player.

Umm. And 12 possessions in the 2nd q at 17%....including 0% by foot.

He ran very hard all over the ground putting pressure on. Early this year, I thought it may be time, but with the body right he is playing ok and should hold his spot.

Dickson in my votes as well. Getting those goals ranks pretty high in my book an area we are in desperate need to improve.

Defensively he really does work hard. Looking at the stats sheet he may not be credited with many tackles, but his best defensive work is in closing down opposition players.
I'll often look ahead to see who the opposition have 'on' as options, and its very rarely someone is Dicko's vicinity. Perhaps thats why he isn't on screen as often - because he is closing down his nearest and they don't kick it there.

But I love Dicko. When Lipinski kicked that ball inside 50 today - you just knew Dicko would play it perfectly, get rid of the opponent with a well timed bump, and mark and goal. He does all of the basics well and you can trust him to do the right thing - from kicking the goals that should be kicked, to even the little things like manning the mark properly and actively. Takes care of the finer details.
