Yeah nah that's a no on Moore for mine. It'd be Adams all over again.

Besides, Lewy Young might've just put this proposition to bed for good.

No to Darcy Moore either
Just waaay to injury prone

I honestly can’t see Essendon winning a final the way they play
Collingwood should have won by more
Injuries critical

So it’s confirmed win and we are 7th and play GWS up there again.

You'd think that would just about put a line through Moore.

Unless GC pull an upset and there is roughly 100 points made up by our margin over the Crows and GC’s over GWS. If that happens we finish 6th and play them as a home final.

I'm not so sure. It's a bit too risky for me but clubs can be stubborn

Well it’s confirmed then because that isn’t going to happen :-) of course I should put capital IF we win.

With May, Kolo, Lever back to fitness and a crop of maturing players and some gun players, who had Melbourne down for 5 wins this season?

Hugely disappointing. Thought they'd be a force this year. Even with May and Lever they're apparently very interested in Keath

No wonder they have signed Richardson to a still to be determined role

They're fans must be livid they're finishing 17th, a mere two wins over GCS and only 78%. I don't know what went wrong, but it was spectacularly bad to dish up this in 2019.

Maybe Melbourne went in with the same attitude into 2019 as we did into 2017.

After they made the pre Lim against WC last year, they looked at their list and realised another key defender was a must, so went and got May. They might of thought that’s all they needed to be a force again, but got a rude awakening instead.

Teams worked them out, their stars became lazy, the game plan fell apart, and they lost Hogan who took the best defender, meaning that McDonald now had the best defender.

All good points, they have shaken up the coaching ranks which we seem to have resisted so I wonder if that will be enough

Just got home from Swans vs Saints @ the SCG.

Saints had a good second quarter and defended well, then things fell away and they gave up in the last.

How did we lose to that rabble?

Swans did a good job farewelling Jack, McVeigh, Smith and Grundy.

Went to the footy today with a Swans fan.

He's a good bloke, but he's still complaining about "unfair" umpiring in the 2016 GF.

Emphasises how important that last 16 minutes vs Hawthorn in round two was. Looks like it could now be the difference between whether Hawks or us make the top eight. Right now you swap those four points around, they're in finals and we are playing a dead rubber tomorrow. Thank god for that inspired 8 goal run in 16 minutes.

Stewey Dew should spend some hours with the Suns dietician.

Rumours were that he finished his career with Port at 104kg. Now that's pretty nasty stuff for someone his height playing elite footy.

As an aside, he's a good bloke from the one time I met him. He was overseeing Swans training at a ground in Sth Yarra where I used to play and my old team was supposed to be training a few years ago, and the Swans rocked up wanting to have a brief session on the oval for touch. I had retired but was doing a boxing session at a gym there and on the way out as he was collecting balls near the car park I said hi to him and suggested that he and the club should think about handing over some training balls to the club that actually should be training.

A few days passed and I was finishing up a boxing session as the usual lads were about to train, and I enquired if they received any new footballs recently. And sure enough, Dew had handed a few over as thanks, which was a nice touch.

He's a big lad, he was even big in the 2008 GF when he proved himself to be an absolute gun. I heard stories about him walking tens of KM's to training to fix his hamstring that year, not sure how true that was........but it's a good story.

If we don’t beat the Crows, we don’t deserve finals. Simple as that.

The Hawks result is irrelevant. If we lose, one of the Adelaide teams would get in. The 1% chance that we could get in with a loss shouldn’t be a source of comfort for anyone. Players nor fans.

G-Mo77
24-08-2019, 10:34 PM
Wasn't expecting that but it puts to bed the lose and still make it scenario which I like. We have to win, if we're good enough we'll play finals.

I don't know. A few decent weeks in a row and suddenly in the finals. We've been patchy and inconsistent all season and kind of feels strange that we're a chance to make it anyway.

So the last undecided finals place is between the Hawks, Dogs and Port.
