Steve Irwin's birthday today as well.

By the way, SEN did mention that he was ironically recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays

Sounds like BS to me, why would one of our players be out early swimming in the ocean on the morning of a NAB cup day?

Disappointing for the young lad as he was set to run around tonight

It was part of a training session according to SEN.

The said it was a recovery session after a hard training session yesterday.

That being the case, I don't think he would have been playing tonight anyhow.

Yeah expect it in tomorrows' Herald Sun...

Such a weird story if its true. I want to destroy that stingray, how dare it go after our #5 draft pick hopeful. Couldnt it go after someone we all know wont get better (like McDougall?)

Been posted on BF that he was an emergency for tonight's game.

Poor guy. You've got to be careful around those shallows though, as soon as a few people are out there and the cockles start getting washed up out of the sand they come in to feed.

Ben Cousins swam at the beach 2hrs before every home match

Obviously a terrible shame but my understanding was he would have only been an emergency anyway.

I think there is some work to do with Grant because I heard last night that he might not be as committed to being a footballer as you would hope for. He might provide Gotch some challenges during the season.

Would he be right to play today?

Riewoldt swims in the ocean before every match (the good Saints one with the chubby girlfriend, not the young Richmond one with a heap of ex-Bulldog teammates)
