There's no footage but Tony Liberatore single-handedly got us over the line at Kardinia Park late in season 1995 that secured us a finals berth. We were something like 7 goals down in the 3rd qtr and Libba Snr went to work in the middle and willed us over the line. He even kicked a couple of great snap goals from memory.
In a similar vein, Scott West tore Geelong apart at the same venue in 2001 when we were 8 goals down in the 2nd qtr. I think he had close to 50 possessions and just dominated the midfield in the last 2.5 qtrs.

I only wanted a video of Matty Robbins one-handed screamer against the Lions (1:57 in the video), but this whole video package is enjoyable. He was probably too good to be in the 'fringe bulldogs' thread, but I always loved watching him play.

Simon Garlick kicking 6 goals out of 11 in that famous Trent Bartlett game against Carlton at Optus Oval in 2000 was pretty significant. Was playing on Andrew McKay as well, who was no mug.

Best footy moment of my life.
Sure was - what a day that was from early morning arrival into Sydney, running into a few woofers like Comrade, Aker39 and also running into a few people outside the ground, RWB everywhere and then the win.
How good was JJ pouncing on that ball, Clay with the big tackle, Matty Boyd, Macrae the effort and intensity shown was just immense.

I was at this game, first time I had ever been to Kardinia Park.
I love how all the numbers increase over time as we recall these great matches. I posted our top 20 largest 3 quarter time deficits that resulted in wins on the stolen matches thread and this game doesn't feature. That's because we were only 1 goal down at three quarter time!
Libba was great but it was actually Kym Koster that was best on ground that day.

I seem to recall a player being knocked out and that seemed to be the catalyst for a vastly improved focus after half time.
Libba led, and many others followed. Didn't we kick 7 goals in the last quarter?

I think he got stuffed around by Macca. Grant was a forward goal sneak, but Macca tried to use him elsewhere which didn't work.

That was at the Western Oval. Kretiuk was playing on Ablett Snr and had him under control.
Ablett got frustrated and whacked one of our guys and Kretiuk got in his face and said something along the lines of "I thought you were supposed to be a tough player but that was just weak as" (I've cleaned it up a bit)
3 or 4 minutes later Ablett lined up Smith and knocked him out.
A brouhaha followed and when it cleared Ablett and Kretiuk were running back to the goal square where the normally quiet Ablett said "Tough enough for you?" Kritter clearly got the message decided to shut up for the rest of the game to protect his team mates.
I heard Kretiuk being interviewed after the game and that was his account of what happened
Do I get a bonus point for using "brouhaha" :) I'm going to try and use hullabaloo soon

Remember the final in '94 or '95 when Ablett really took Kritter to the cleaners in the first quarter? Ablett kicked 4 or 5 in a devastating burst. I asked Kretiuk about it one day and he said "First contest and as I reach for the ball Ablett throws his hand as hard as he could at my face and the hard bit at the bottom of his hand caught me in the eye socket and pushed the eyeball right up into my head. I couldn't see a thing but there was no way I was going to let him know that"
How. *!*!*!*!ing. Tough?

Loved Kretiuk!
I saw Kretiuk the week between when Wheeler got the sack and Joyce took over and we were chatting and I said hopefully you and Croft can remain fit for the rest of the year. He then said not going to happen - Joyce went old school and made everyone get out on the track regardless of fitness and Croft tore his hammy.
I think Kretiuk was totally shocked someone recognised him in the middle of the cbd.

And it's not a bulldog individual but a big shout out to the umpire who decided to call play on when Scully should have gotten a 50 metre penalty in time in the last quarter on in the 2016 prelim when jj (I think it was him) ran through the protected zone.
I'll never forget seeing the red, white and blue jumper run into the shot. I closed my eyes and thought "It's over. It's all over" but never heard the whistle I was expecting and when I reopened my eyes the ball was back in play. There is a god afterall.

Griffen against St Kilda 2008. From 1 minute 15 seconds in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdAtA_pgQTI
I love him but still hate him. I think he's weak at times but he also captained our club and couldn't have been weak to do so. Irrespective of his bull nature once he became a central midfielder for us, he should have been left on the outside because the responsibility to drive the engine room and be the man was too much for him. Plus we lost a lot on the outside when he did.
Not many players in the history of the game could do what was asked of him. He certainly couldn't and he and us should have known that before we asked him to.
After 2016 I'm happy to look back on him now and know that he should have been a silk player, not an inside bull, and someone we should have used to complement the club's leaders rather than leading the club itself.

Hard to think of a Bulldogs player that was so good for us on field for so long, that completely ruined his legacy with one off field decision.
When I hear the name Ryan Griffen, I can hardly remember his playing achievements now. All that remains is October 2014.

Summed it up beautifully Jeemak, I feel the same as you.
Griffen was a thumping kick, had strength, speed, able to duck and weave and one of our best performers in finals. He had everything you wanted in a midfielder. Should never had been captain and was stuffed around by Macca.
I was disappointed in how he left, but that is history now and slowly I am coming back to remembering his football days.
