Pretty even performance. Thought that Libba and McLean's additions to the team was a significant factor. Probably had 10 players equally deserving of votes - but went for those who had the most influence when the game was hottest/around the contest.

I've been hard on English but he was terrific tonight. His stoppage work is still very much a work in progress but his work around the ground was exemplary tonight - he completely worked Jacobs over around the ground both ways, taking several contested marks down back from opposition I50's and also putting himself in dangerous areas up forward. He would have been in the votes had he kicked the 2 goals he should have.
Libba was simply amazing in the coalface, especially when the game was on the line in the 1st half. His brilliant hands and decision making in heavy traffic continue to be vastly underrated by the wider footy public. I reckon he is up there as one of the best I've seen, alongside Greg Williams and Sam Mitchell, in these areas. When Libba is fit and focused, we are an immeasurably better team.

Lots of top votes for Smith which is so pleasing for a second year player this “early” in the season

Good call, especially considering 2nd year blues normally happens.

I read an article by our old mate Damo Barrett saying at this stage he thinks Smith is the number 1 player from the 2018 draft. Hard to argue.

Pretty good draft though....so its a big call. Walsh has been outstanding, Rozee a freak, the King boys are going to be a serious handful, and we haven't really seen Rankine yet, who may be the most talented of the lot.

Yeah i remember we were heavily into Ben King (i think we would have taken him if available). I've watched him this year and agonised that we didn't get to draft him. He's exactly what we need down back and up forward and in the ruck. The perfect Bevo versatile player. The agony ends when i remember we have Smith.
It's going to go down as one of those super drafts.

Agree, and yes Rankine could be the best. We saw a snippet in that pre season game last year looked amazing.
