This is the round 9, 2020 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once the game against Richmond is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

Bankers:
- Macrae, ridiculously consistent
- Vandermeer, 100% effort. Big future
- Wallis, our best forward this year by a reasonable margin

Anchors:
- Gameplan. When it goes wrong, it goes wrong horribly.
- Players who dropped their heads. Lipinski, Richards notables
- Bruce. Kicking into the man on the mark in the corridor. Unforgivable

Bankers

1. Macrae tried his guts out
2. Wallis - through limited opportunity 3 goals that should have been 4, and he also missed a gettable.
3. Macrea, Daniel and Williams in their milestone games tried really hard and can all hold their heads high.

Anchors

1. Bruce kick into the man
2. Gowers missing Wally's shot
3. Umpires - really pathetic effort that cost goals that should never have happened. Weren't the difference but shit decisions.

Macrae - it was virtually Macrae v Richmond
Wallis - our only forward - got 3, missed one, lost one to the blood rule.
Daniel and Crozier - gave their all the whole game.

Anchors
Our coach had no answers tonight when Richmond got on a roll.
Too many others to list.

Bankers:

Macrae - as per the previous 149 games, turns up and performs.
Wally - pretty hard night to be a bulldogs forward. The one forward we can rely on to take his opportunities. One uncharacteristic miss and one taken off him - so should have been minimum 4 and possibly 5.
Williams - couple of mistakes, but kept trying to make things happen. 6 score involvements (of our 14 total) from half back. Doesn't go into his shell when the chips are down.

Anchors:

Billy - enough already. At half time his only stats were 2 frees against. Hopefully the last quarter on ball was to give him a nice send off run around.
JT - Having him play in the ruck was an atrocious decision. Don't think he is physcially capable of playing AFL footy anymore.
Baz Smith - been nothing but love and rose coloured glasses this year for him, and plenty were worse, but for balance - Baz was ordinary tonight. No defensive work, no care with the footy - and it goes to show how flawed the disposal efficiency stat is when it had him registered as going at 100% for his first 5 disposals when at least 3 of them were ordinary option bang-it-forward kicks that weren't to our advantage. The kids a star, he'll be back, but didn't like his game.
