Interesting to hear Dwayne(yes I know) on SEN talking about having both of his done.
He says the second one was definitely easier as he knew what to expect and what responds well.

Given Dunks has already had a shoulder reco I'm hopeful the 12 week timeframe is close to the mark and he gets a bit of match fitness under his belt pre-finals. A VFL then AFL game as a minimum.

Even though Dunkley's character and commitment are questionable (para) his professionalism can't be questioned and I'd imagine he'd be very fit when it's time to return.

Sorry bad,
For some reason I didn't check the injury list ... somewhat dumb, one might think.
Hope a temporary lapse.

No Probs, we can keep a special eye out for him right here.

Three months plus vfl time to get touch. No way he can expect to get back to play finals.

If only there was a week off before the finals to allow him recover.

There is also the mid season bye

Surely 12 weeks is not set in stone. Hopefully he will recover earlier than that.

Last time (despite his blog saying rd 4! ) he injured his shoulder in a tackling incident v Richmond in rd 7 2017 which was May 6.
Also in the last quarter coincidentally.
He came back in rd 16 of the VFL on the 5th of August and played in the ones the next week on the 11th of August v the Giants at Etihad.
So 97 days.
The same period from this injury (April 23 - > late July ) would have him back the weekend of rd 20 which is the Melbourne game at the MCG.

At least he can keep running and kicking.

Did he injure the same shoulder?

Did he injure the same shoulder?

I'm pretty sure I heard it was the other shoulder he hurt last time.

Caleb Daniel said on tv that he reckons Dunks will be back in 10. Never seen a player who can play with so much pain.

Watched the replay - looked calm walking off the ground with his bone poking a bulge out of his skin

Kids tough as nails so no doubt he can come back early if it’s just a matter of pain. Question is if he can get back to the same level of play quickly.

Get him back in time for finals while other teams midfields are beat up and crawling to the finish line. Will be like a bull in a china shop.

Should we be worried with his injury history?

3 out of his 6 years in the game he has had major injuries.

2016 played 17 games
2017 played 7 games
2018 played 19 games
2019 played 23 games
2020 played 12 games (shortened season 18 games)
2021 played 6 games

Is it due to the way he plays. Bit like Jong just going in hard and fearless.

It's all collision stuff rather than soft tissue, and he always comes back and performs once he's recovered.

Yep no concern for mine.

I really hope he stays and we keep this ridiculous midfield for many years.
