We can field the tallest backline in history with all of them 190cm plus

Congrats Cody. Based upon an interview before draft days you seem a determined young lad and I’m sure you’ll grab this chance and leave no stone unturned.

And up forward, Naughton, Jamarra, English, Schache, Darce, Bruce (when fit) and Bont resting. We have never had a taller team.

Yet we’re somehow still short ruck and a key defender.

Well done Cody Raak for believing in yourself and wanting to prove everyone wrong. a great reward for persistence and a great attitude complimented by a good dose of skill.

I’m not sure which side of the argument you’re on here. Keath aside, that feels thin to me.

Gret to see him on the list, hope that the post Covid VFL environment can really help accelerate his development

Just stating who we have.
We have the best list in the AFL. It's just unbalanced.
I'm not sure we balanced it over the off season.
But who knows what options there was.

Melbourne have the best list. Elite midfield, ultra elite defence, multi dimensional forward line.

Like the Power in the Prelim. No way we are 70 points better. Just when the game was gone they caved.

They've got 2 mids.
They’ve got 2 superstar elite mids and a number of good players prepared to do whatever it takes to win. Then throw in Gawn and Jackson.
They’re clearly ahead of us all over the ground and nothing we’ve done off season has bridged the gap.

But at the end of Rd 20 with loads of injuries we were on top.
There's some demon love on here that I'm not sure is warranted.
Ben Brown? Tom Mcdonald seriously. Hannan hits a handball we are 25 up.
Im not saying they're not good, just don't think they have a better list than us.

I agree, they had a dream run in 2021, and you need that to win a GF. A whole year with only one major injury (Tomlinson), and just had to travel to Perth, lockdown 14 days and free.
We used up nearly every player, travelled for 4 weeks and locked away almost the entire time. No excuses in the end, but Demons are beatable, and we showed that in the rain at the G.

I think the Swans have probably as good a list as anyone. I was really shocked they went out first week.
Losing their half back gun Dawson was massive.

We do lack that power mid like Martin and Petracca which looking at the last 4? Norm Smith's seems to be critical.
Bont is more silk than power.

At the start of the year @cody.raak approached me wanting to put some size on and wanted to increase his speed, power and endurance. Cody is in the mix to hopefully being drafted in the coming days and represented Vic Metro during 2021.
Being an elite athlete our priority was performance over the look but a whopping 6kgs of lean muscle tissue added to Cody’s frame has made him a little more ready for the rigours of senior football in 2022.
Sitting at 194cm and 78kgs when he first started now sitting at 84kgs. It’s incredible how this kid goes about it, he rolls up at 7:45am twice a week, no fuss, dedicated, determined to succeed. He’s not left a stone unturned.
Performance stats
Starting 16/02/2021
Bench press 50kg 2RM
Squat 70kg 6RM
Dead lift 60kg
Performance stats
23/11/2021
Bench press 90kg x 2
Squat 140kg x 2
Dead lift 120kg x 4
Amazing achievement by this bloke! I’ve seen him go from a kid to a man in the span of 9 months. God willing he gets the call up from an AFL club this week because no one deserves it more.

Ok I know his dad.
Been drunk with him a few times.
We told him to take out the light bulb, and he could do it from a standing start.
Interesting bloke.

Sitting at 194 CMs is pretty good. He must be huge when he stands! Kind of like that picture of the rafters in the paper on Thursday with Sam Darcy the only one sitting and still taller than all the others.

How can any of us ever forget Aaron James' one disposal, one mark and one behind AFL career for us!

Yes another I went to school with. He was a man mountain ridiculously sized ! He once kick 24? goals again my mate who was 70kgs wringing wet playing in the RDFL.
"Continuing the pattern of one season club stints, James was with RDFL (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riddell_District_Football_League) club the Sunbury Kangaroos (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbury_Kangaroos_Football_Club) in 2006. During the finals series that year he was reported for threatening behavior towards an umpire and suspended for 15 weeks. This kept him out of action for much of 2007 but the following year he played some good football at Stanhope."
