The best thing about a limp performance like last night is I’ll now avoid every other game like the plague and have more time to be productive over the next four days, whereas if we’d won I’d actually sit down and watch West Coast vs Gold Coast like an insane asylum patient.

Silver linings and all that jazz! :D

That Coast Off is gonna be hilarious. Have you seen some of the guys West Coast might have to field? They’re finally being held to account for their sins of playing that PE teacher in the hub that one time.

Carlton are playing well. It's a good game of football. Both teams look a lot quicker than we did last night.

Its going to be a long , long season for st kilda. Their midfield just not doing enough to chase and put on the pressure. Pies young midfield doing well and playing with discipline. start of third quarter, but they will tire

Gee Jack Hayes is looking a likely type. Mature aged ruck right there for the taking.

Good pickup, great story he has debut as a SPP

Glad to see him performing. It's not that we f*cked it up its that we had too many players in his position. Who would you have gotten rid of instead of Lippa? Dunks? Libba? Garcia?

I don't think so HD. He had a contract in front of him from the doggies. He chose not to sign it. That is the way footy is now days. Unfortunately.

I know it's round one and football is trending that teams get on a run and there are momentum swings in games but Essendon are giving off a serious pretenders vibe at the moment.

I am pretty cross about this. Do you have any idea how much time I am gonna burn reading Bombersblitz tonight?

*Note: I am not at all cross about this.

I think someone influential like Tim Watson with the backing of Ch7 should intervene to get things back on track, because it's irresponsible to allow a narrative to fall apart this early in the season.

I almost enjoy seeing the Bombers get belted as much as the Dogs winning.

It's a bit tempered when it's Geelong doing the belting though.

Get shit already, dammit.

Its a shame I was not able to watch them live today. One of the few games I will enjoy watching the reply.

More of the same downhill skiing ?

I blame it on Stringer not playing.

Walking in Fitzroy gardens and supporters were streaming out at 3/4 time. I had to stop my wife muttering "It is going to be a long season" as we passed some supporters

At the game. Cracking game - both teams looking good. Hoping Buddy gets his 5 goals (not looking likely at this stage).
Disappointing crowd but that is Sydney.

I'm happy for him to kick one goal against us and get his 1000th in the dying minutes of the last quarter after we beat them by 130 points. :)

Crows v Dockers was a ripper. Freo by a point, save on the line from the high ball with 10 seconds to go.

Nick Martin from the bombers also kicked 5 from 27 touches on debut, only 20 years old. There were some incredible debuts this weekend, with Jack Hayes as well (although he's too old for rising star).

With West Coasts unavailable players, gold coast really had no excuse to lose this game.

Rachele you could argue was more impactful. Sure they didn't win, but he was huge in a 1 point loss while Martin, as good as he was, was a consolation prize in a thrashing.
