OK.

I have a computer (you've probably worked that bit out) and I want to watch Sunday's game again (and again and again).

What do I have to do to download a copy of the game off the net?

Firstly you need to be willing to break the law! Its illegal.

I dont, but if I did, this is what I would do.

You need to install a torrent program - I dunno what you pc people use, I use transmission on the mac. The basic ones for pc seem to be bittorent or utorrent. Others may have a different view.

Go here - http://fr333dom.com/ and download the torrent file. It will be called something clever like WBulldogs vs Crows Rd1. Click the little blue arrow to download the file.

Then open the torrent file with your torrent application.

So....

Download your torrent client
Install it
Go download the torrent file
Open it with the torrent client

On average how large are the files for a match? My speeds are pretty ordinary.

This weeks game was just over 1gb, however the sizes can vary from 1gb to 3gb.

so for the avg users connection it will take a good day to download depending on the speeds you get. You might get lucky and get it in a few hours.

It converts them to a range of different Video file formats (ie AVI; XDvD etc). MP4 is apparently a default Apple format and it doesn't play on my thingy that I have connected to the TV.

mp4 isn't really a Quick Time thing (they just pretend it is).

I found a program called VLC that fixed it up real good.

Torrent site? Is that where i download it from or the program i used.

Found the Torrent off of Firstdogs's link http://fr333dom.com/

Bitcomet then did the downloading.

Videora works well but because the torrents off site like TorrentSpy usually are from America it creates a delay between picture and sound.

I dont bother using torrents for footy, i use it for all-american stuff..

For the footy i have foxtel..so i record some of the games (mainly the ones im not at home watching) to my HDD Dvd Recorder..ive got the Eagles & Saints game on there at the moment..

Didnt tape freo game cause i watched it..but ill end up taping the Roos game tomorrow while i go n watch..best way i think.

If someone needs to borrow it you copy the file to a dvd..simple.

I was unable to see the game on Sunday.

It was Mother's Day, after all.

And after I played golf in the morning and got home just in time to go to the pub to watch the match I saw the fire in the eyes of Sweetness and Light and decided that discretion is the better part of valour.

Anyway, I noticed that fr333dom.com has very few matches any more. 2 or 3 games from each round. BOOOOOOOO!

I'm a bit of a nerd.

MP4 is a way of squashing video so the file is smaller, about 1/4 of the size of a DVD (which is in mp2 format.)

You can convert mp4 into mp2 (dvd) using this free software:http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

it converts anything to anything. hell you can even watch a footy match on a kids nintendo ds or a PSP

If you get a dvd player that can play divx or AVI you're in good shape - that way you can burn about 4 games to a single dvd and still watch them on the tv.

Otherwise I use NeroVision.

Guys, i have a copy of every Bulldogs win for the last 2 or so seasons on DVDs at home.

APART FROM last weekend (NM game) which the taping stuffed (HELP!)

I record them from the iq or FTA

Most still have the ads in, and are suitable quality for watching on lap tops/pc's but a tad grainy when compared to the original product.

If anyone is desperate for an old game give me a hoy and a postal address.

ANd no, i won't do lots and lots because i am busy, and no, i won't charge to do them, and no, it wont be delivered on the next plane.

(NB the only losing game i kept was the narrow loss against Geelong this year)
