View Full Version : How did everyone go in SuperCoach?

Never played it before, and was too late to join up with the WOOF league, so was just wondering how everyone else is going?
All of my players scored well except two (who scored in the 50s, and have been traded out), and two of my emergencies scored more than some of my starting 22 so would have had 40 more points had I had them in instead (Josh Hill was one of them). Jon Brown as my captain (I know, shame on me for not having Johnno) was my top scorer with 270+ points. Off the top of my head I scored 1950+ points.

I'm in 3 dreamteam/supercoch comps & went woefully in them, so much so that in the head to head one I played The Coon Pup & got towelled up!

I got 2220! :)
I'm really happy with that considering I didn't even seen 12 of the 16 teams before I finalised my SC team.
Got in the 1900s with both my teams...Gooses having a shocker, and Micth Thorpe not playing cost me... they have been traded away as a result.....I don't forgive easily!!

Great work G-MO!
I'm looking through the top teams in the comp, and it looks like they've really top-loaded their team with the most expensive, best performing players, and just plugged the gaps with cheap, good-value players. Which route did most of us go? My strategy, which looks like landing me a good, average year rather than a standout one, was to pick a team of solid average scorers that have a good track record with injury, and then top off the team with the best superstars I can afford and filling my subs and emergencies with the best draftees and young players. Being my first year I'm still learning on the job as it were..
And I managed (just) to make all changes before the start of Round 1, slow as the server was that day.

We were all in the same boat on that one.
It didn't help that there system shit itself an hour before the first game.

Got about 1890, but had Lucas as well, and another player who was on an extended interchange and didn't get picked. Having Johnno as my captain saved my arse.
Did awful in Dreamteam though, although i have to say I'm not a big fan of the format.

I tend to hold onto players until it goes head to head although if an expensive player is going to plummet in price after 2 weeks I'll be quick to move them out in week 3 before the price change.
eg, Lance Whitnall last season I think he dropped close to 100K in round 3! I was happy to move him out before that!

I'm thinking if i trade Monfries for Dew I'll have 100,000 to upgrade Petterd but i will wait for the team sheets

Strange. Perhaps it hadn't included a benched player into your score yet or something.

We have a work Supercoach happening...my score was 2034. Lucas getting injured didn't help my score but have now traded him out for Matthew Lloyd.

1960 for one - didn't help loosing Lucas. Only 1640 for the others - several players I took would be a given to play didn't - so I was down three players:(

1700 odd.
Had quite a few players not get a game which cost me.
Was really surprised players like Hansen (Roos) and Sellar didn't get a game after good pre-season form.

Don't waste your trades early in the season and especially don't waste them early in the week. Wait until later on in the week when teams are out and training sessions are finished. You wouldn't be to happy if P. Burgoyne strains a hammy at training tomorrow would you?

Yeah i know, I'm impatient, but hopefully i won't need any trades for a while with good emergencies this year
