What a star, what a player, he has been brilliant throughout his career to date. So consistent and has racked up 100 games with 30 plus disposals. Unlucky to not snare a B&F, but will get close this year.

200 games already? That was so quick.
Jack is of the most consistent and durable players we've ever had. I put him in the Scott West class and I really rated Scooter, he was just about the best midfielder to play with us.

Jacko will easily go past the all time record of games with 30 plus disposals held by Gary Alett jnr before he retires.

Drafted the same year as Stringer and has played 30 games more.
He's durable and consistent and on top of that an excellent footballer.
Could we get another 100 games from him? I hope so.

Jet. Keep it up Jacko. Very very good footballer. Hard as nails and silky with both foot and hand. Runs all day long. Earns his possessions.

Skinny frame. Durable. Doesn't rely on explosive pace. Unless he cops a major injury he will easily make it to 300.

Was it a priority pick or the Griff pick? I've forgotten why we had 5 and 6.

Was it a priority pick or the Griff pick? I've forgotten why we had 5 and 6.
Was it Ward compo?
EDIT
Because of Callan Ward’s defection to Greater Western Sydney at the end of 2011, the Bulldogs were rewarded an extra first-round pick as compensation, which they activated the following year. This ensured the Western Bulldogs got picks five and six in the 2012 AFL Draft – which proved to be very valuable.
We whinge about Ward going to GWS, but we wouldn't have Macrae

He's a pro. I remember being laughed at by Melbourne supporters at the G in 2016 when I told them he is tough as nails. All they saw was the way he looked, not the way he played and how hard he tackled, held onto the footy until he had to let it go to release someone else and how pounded his body got.
He won't ever be as good as the very best due to his inability to hit the scoreboard enough, but he will be at the top of that second tier of mids when he retires and that's nothing to sneeze at. In fact, it's absolutely elite.
What he has that others haven't had due to the way the game is played versus them, is an ability to cut zone defences apart thoughtfully, under pressure and with precision. Nobody thinks his way through the angles better than Jacko does, and this is almost competition wide - and something that is never mentioned about him when it should be.

And we got Ward for the pick 19 that Richmond gave us for sending them McMahon. The pick that keeps on giving.

It helped deliver a premiership!
Well done Jack! Already a Footscray/Western Bulldogs immortal and you're still only halfway (400 games why not) through your career.
I think I even take for granted what we have in Jackson Macrae

That would have been in the era where we all had to pretend that Nathan Jones was an elite player right? No wonder they couldn't figure out that players could be hard and have other superstar attributes at the same time.

Have you seen Nathan's brother Zac play? He's super tough too. Massively awesome at footy just like his brother as well.

A bulldog supporters view on Jackson Macrae since his debut.
AN UNLIKELY ANIMAL
WHEN a young player arrives on the scene at your club, it’s natural to be optimistic.
Usually it takes two or three seasons before attention turns to what they can’t do. Until then, it’s all positivity about possibility.
When Jack Macrae was selected by the Dogs, the team was pretty close to ground zero. A 5-17 15th-placed season had preceded him – only the broken Demons and the early-year expansion sides were worse.
The highs of the Rodney Eade era were well and truly over, with most of the stars of those three prelims out the door or about to be.
Macrae’s debut came in round four of 2013. Sixteen touches and a goal in a 52-point thumping at the hands of the Crows in their final season at Football Park – the Dogs managed just four goals that night.
It was evident pretty early that he knew how to find the footy, but the two things that stick in my mind from his early matches are the quick side-step mid-kicking action, and the beautiful Stevie-J cross body kicks into the forward 50.
There were the usual growing pains. And in early 2015 it wasn’t quite working. That early optimism had worn off – “He can’t kick it far, can he?” “He’s not very quick.” “Is he a winger or a proper onballer?” “Why doesn’t he kick any goals?”

Still should have got 2 picks back for Ward! We would have been a far better side and maybe have snagged more silverware!
Melb got 2 picks for losing Scully and the Bullies at the time were saying that was illogical. Just shows how the AFL rewards incompetence at the Dees, as I have gone on about before!

In some footage going around they showed a clip from an interview he did on draft night. He said how quite off field he is but on field he is so loud.
A few years back we played GWS or an interstate club, we'd missed finals and there was no crowd or crowd noise. The noisiest bastard in the whole ground was Jack Macare...

It takes a lot of time and effort on my part to continuously deliver this level of humour, so it's really nice when it's appreciated.
Macare was a labour of love; the 5 days and nights it took to formulate transpired so quickly I barely realised what I'd achieved.
Such a sense of pride when I could share it with the world.
