I was thinking the same thing.
I only voted Bonempelli because he had to strip the ball from Frawley twice.

It's marginal, but the fact that two kids we're pinning hopes of the future on (at the time) kicked late clutch goals against Melbourne to seal the game is a pretty good omen.

Got to say Bont. Wrong foot, this way and that way, dodging and weaving. Yep have to be Bont. But Marras was very special.

Marra’s. The game situation with Bont was we just had to score, he banged it on the boot and got lucky but Marra kicked it 60 dead straight under body pressure and meant it

The Bont goal against West Coast where he was running towards goal and kicked a banana that went through was more impressive than his Melbourne goal. Libba kicked a similar one this year as well

i think Bont’s goal is better in a vacuum but when you consider the cool guy celebration and what the result of the kicks actually bring think I’d take Marra’s.

I think both were just magical. I cannot pick one over the other so did not vote, (however if you put a gun to my head I’d say Bont’s by a whisker).

Bont’s will forever live in my memory as I was close to it and was totally gobsmacked with the multiple efforts and tough angle. I remember watching it on replay like 10 times or more, including the 30 secs or so lead in, not just the goal itself.

Marra’s goal given what was at stake has already already burnt itself into dog folklore - we will be asking in decades to come were you at that game where Marra silenced the doubters and kicked 5 including the sealer?

Marra’s was from a distance and it was only on replay I appreciated how effortless he made it look - almost like he was not kicking it hard and it just hit the sweet spot biomechanically speaking and yet it went soooo far.

Both had the crowd in ecstasy and looking at fans sitting close by in utter disbelief. Bit like Grant’s goal vs bummers in 2000.

Both Bont’s and Marra’s goals were gems of rare beauty.

I agree with boydogs that Bont’s goal against WC was a pearler, as was Libba’s similar one. At speed running forward and kicking from a tight angle-almost impossible yet somehow two of the greatest RWB made it happen.

I’ll take Bont. Watching that one, I finally felt some hope that we wouldn’t be shit forever after we’d suffered some pretty dismal years.

Voted for JUH. Reason...recency bias.

Bont was goal of the decade, but of course the nuffies at head office wouldn't consider a WB player. Marra is a freak and that goal was incredible. I was listening in the car with my head phones on and when he kicked the sealer I yelled an all mighty YES!!!!. My 93 year old mother didn't know what was going on.

Bont by a long way. Pressure poise, precision, perfection

Bontempelli for me clearly. Best goal I've ever witnessed (at least live) and I've been going to AFL games now for over 40 years.
