Just rolled into the ground- it’s a shame the weather has turned as there are installations and popups everywhere- including a number of huge instalments on either side of the river.

It?s falling steadily atm and as you can see from the radar It’s about to really open up. Bit of luck by game time it might be done.

Also took my kids out to South Adelaide to see them train yesterday. Was a pretty short session and obviously just a loosen up, but what they did looked pretty sharp. They were quite late starting (were apparently delayed on the tarmac for an hour or so).

Arty Jones was right in front of me for most and the kids skills are excellent- hopefully as he fully adjusts he is able to really show his kit bag off. Hannan looks incredibly fit and is a huge unit now.

Kids got signatures from half the team and my 6 year old told JUH how he met him at the GF (we had seats right in front of the players box and the players were interacting with my kids all day).

Quite a few dogs in the house- we might be able to pull a few VIC neutrals on our bandwagon too- quite a lot have hung around for the second game from what I can see.

Put away in these conditions is having a 3 to 4 goal lead right now. The fact we're down is telling imo.

We aren't playing horribly. It's the usual concentration things that are killing us. But if we were playing a half decent side we'd be 5 goals down by now.

We need a more even contribution. Fumbling less would also help. But really, we need a sustained effort. When we've applied ourselves we've been all over them. We just haven't done it for any sustained time period.

In the second part of the last quarter I noticed him running pretty hard and trying to get the ball in his hands. It hasn?t helped that he is getting double teamed and checked before every contest- a couple he has grabbed haven?t been paid too.

He just isn?t built for the wet weather wrestle and is getting pretty mauled. If it stays dry I would leave him on- I think he will get hold of them on the lead.

That is a poor result. O’Brien so costly. The first goal they kicked for the quarter should never been allowed. A contested overhead mark in a pack on driving rain. The second Marshall goal not much O’Brien could do but still concedes a mark. Their last goal he gifted them. That was the difference.

I don?t think he?s played that badly. Had to take a risk. Every time we kicked long out of port?s 50 one of port?s players would mark it.

Macrae is concerning me though and I wonder why we persevered with him at centre and on ball. Could have tried Maclean in there. Enough said about Hannan. Port?s ability to shutdown Dale was pretty impressive and they kept Bont quiet later on. We do look like a slow side.

When we were 8 points up and had it in our F50 I reckon had we scored another one that might have been enough for us to win. Oh well, next week.

Not sure what he was supposed to do against Marshall in two of those instances. Having Bruce go off was the bigger issue. Bigger still are Lobb’s misses down the other end.
