I'm confused. I don't have a reserved seat, just GA. For the Collingwood game it is going to cost me $17 just to reserve a GA seat which I am already entitled to? Is this correct?
Edit: clicking through it looks like the cheapest I can get is $20 for a front of level 3 seat.

So did anyone get any clarity on this? Is rolling up for GA still an option, or was an upgrade needed?
As an aside, people are taking advantage of the kids go free thing. On ticket resell site Tixel there was one user that had over 30 kids GA that they were selling for $10-20. Had already sold most but had another 10 or so listed.

It's only $10 credit per seat isn't it? I'm not sure how it works at other clubs but it seems a bit stingy. You should be able to sell it at something closer to a market rate less an admin fee. Doesn't effect me personally as I don't have a reserved seat, just my opinion.

Yeah, it isn't a good return but I was going to get $0 for not going anyway so why not let another Bulldog supporter have it.

Hey all,
Currently road tripping over- quick question:
Anyone have any idea how early I will need to be at the ground to make sure GA doesn’t get exhausted before I get in? Will rolling up when gates open be early enough, or should I be getting there much earlier?
TIA- Obviously not super keen to drive over and get locked out!

An issue still where I sit is opposition supporters getting into our silver reserve seat area on Level 1. Prince Imperial can vouch for this. I think it is very hard to stop. Went with my brother tonight who is a Pies supporter and he sat at the Coventry End as he usually does and when the Pies play at Marvel. General admission is the area where its absolutely fine to have a mix of both teams fans.

If our silver reserved was sold out they wouldn't be available to be bought by opposition fans unless they are onsold/given to opposition supporters. The joys of supporting a smaller club unfortunately.
Yeah that would explain it.

I was going to go but struck down with a nice head cold today. Going to Ballarat won't help with that at all. :D

Without the cool scoreboard.
Remember that sepia marvel?
I always remember the umpire walking out animation. He used to cop it with fruit and veg!
Also the unique sounds of Waverley. The hum of the score board and the clink of the flag pole ropes.

Ah yes, classic Waverley. Could do a thread on VFL park alone.

Sitting in hail while the rest of the ground was in sunshine, the huge distance between the boundary line and the fence, getting splinters from the seats, trying to watch a replay on the scoreboard, trying to find the car after the lights were turned off. In its later years it had a charm missing from its early concrete mausoleum days. Going out there had a road trip feel

I remember going there for the 1974 Elim. Final v Collingwood. I took a train from Sunshine to Glen Waverly then a bus to the ground. It was a very long trip. The Black and white scoreboard was just crap.

Wow that's prior to my birth. I don't say that much anymore. Not by much ;)
Did we win?

Nope
Two years later a friend drove us there to watch another EF against Geelong. He wrapped the whole car in RWB. Lost that one too

Losing your car in a sea of cars after not paying attention where you parked it was memorable too.

Yep especially in mid winter with fading light.
And the race to the exit where traffic from all directions would attempt to merge.
My cousin lived in Belgrave and he still complains about Waverley being scrapped.

What about the extremely over-officious guys in blue coats (no women to be seen) who would wave you into a parking spot. You would have to be directed by a dozen of them, all waving arms militantly, all the way from the entry to where they’d decided you had to park. The very last one would also have you reversing back and forth ten times before satisfied with your position. Despite all the pomposity, someone always got bogged on the way out.

That was the easy bit. Trying to get out was a nightmare.

I have a heap of memories from VFL Park, both good and not so.
- My last game of Aussie rules football was at VFL Park for Footscray little league against South Melbourne in 1978. I had also played at the MCG 2 weeks earlier against Melbourne.
- Went to a Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket match to watch Australia play the Rest of the World in the late 70s.
- Went to many baseball games - games between the Waverley Reds and Melbourne Monarchs were fiercely contested and often resulted in massive all in brawls.
- First final I went to was the 1985 Preliminary Final - I remember it took so long to get home the local fish n chip shop was shut and we missed Seven's Big League. I think we ended up having spaghetti on toast for dinner - appropriate for how the day turned out.
- Remember Chris Grant stamping himself on the competition in a final against St Kilda in 1992.
- Became an AFL member in 1996 and went to many neutral games out at Waverley - parking became a breeze as I learnt where the best parks were for making a quick getaway. Sitting in the Sir Kenneth Luke stand as opposed to the outer helped the experience too.
- Saw Bung Dunstall kick 14 against us (bad), and Simon Beasley kick 12 against Richmond (good).

Am i right in saying that the little league in those days featured one game played over the whole ground? Waverley was massive.
I followed the Melbourne Monarchs for a season (still have my membership ticket) and yes they had a willing rivalry.
That 85 final was so disappointing. In contrast the 92 semi was massive after Geelong did us the previous week.

Yep and most grounds full of mud. Most games ended without scoring which was also put up on the scoreboard.
