I really enjoyed tonight's game, and I quite like good wet weather footy games.

I think it brings out different skill sets and nullifies others, such as tall forwards and aerial abilities.

Do you like a good wet weather footy games?

If so, over the years what were your favourite wet weather footy games you've seen?

And what was it like in the crowd out in the wet?

I don’t like wet weather footy because dry weather footy has way more hangers and sausages but I really like how the superstars elevate in the wet, like Butters did tonight.

Bontempelli and Pendlebury are the two best wet weather players ever and they’re also two of the best twenty or so ever, and it’s no coincidence.

Good thread Dry Rot. I only watched on TV however that landmark 2015 game where we beat the Swans (that remarkable soccer type kick from Easton Wood and his other heroics spring to mind) is right up there for me.

Good get Josie.

I was at that game in Sydney and it was the best game to be at. More so because I was in the stand dry.

I was also in Adelaide for a game against Port that was very wet when Bont played at a level so far above everyone else.
Unfortunately my seat in the stand copped all the rain and it was less enjoyable.

So in answer to the question wet weather footy can be great games, but significantly more enjoyable when I remain dry.

Well I used to love them and for many years the Whitten Oval was our home and the wet conditions gave us an edge against opposition teams. It didn't hurt that we would often bring into the side some players that were regarded as wet weather specialists.

For players it cuts down some of the flair they might have and it's a time for them to 'crack in' and accept it's going to be a more physical and less skillful contest. The team that does that best often wins.
Very different game to the pristine conditions of Marvel.
