What does the first game look like with Bont, Treloar, English, Richards, Dale, Weightman and JUH playing? I wouldn't be surprised given Hawthorn's outs it was arranged that we'd water down our game one team.

Thing is which game was their strong team?
If it was the first game and we had very good players out. Even though we only won by 25 it was a cruise .
Second game was a belting so to me it means they have got an extremely weak list .
If they want to fall back on injuries as an excuse in the first game , think of who we didn’t play in that game.

Thanks for all the reports.

Ok, it was only a ?simulation? match but I was thrilled for Lachie McNeil, he played so well. I hope he gets lots of opportunities this season. (His ?twin? :) Anthony Scott also did well, I hear)

Others whose games I liked, apart from the recognised stars, were West, Coffield, Khamis, Poulter (he’s understated but effective), and Harmes. Sanders was impressive in his debut.

We can be hopeful for the season ahead :)

Hmm, what’s with the substitution of a question mark for an apostrophe? Something to do with not typing it but selecting an auto word? Let’s see… Let’s see…

It's a challenge with iphones and ipads etc. It's being worked on but proving challenging for the IT expert to fix.

Lachie McNeal has forced his way into the Round 1 side based on his pre-season so far. In ex-Williamstown players terms, he's transformed himself from Cavarra to Schultz.

Watching the replay now.

QTR time observations;

- Sanders is excellent. Does everything well. Smart, composed, tough, skilled.

- Coffield was great early. Read the play well, some nice link up play, used it well, spoiled it well. Fully fit he'll be pretty handy

- Bramble can find the ball. Part of me wonders if he could be a wing option, and I still prefer Williams as a half back at his best.

- Darcy just needs to play. Freak talent.

- Libba isn't slowing down. He's a marvel.

- Khamis is one I like. Composed, rangey, skillful. I think he can play a bit of footy against the slower lumbering forwards and have an impact.

- Need to find a way to get Arty involved more. What he does is damaging with his raw pace and he's very clean with brilliant agility. He can make things happen, just need to see more of it. Another one that I wonder if he may be better suited to a wing role.

- Naughton looks strong and fit, moving well. West looks a lot sharper than he did this time last year too.

Onto QTR 2.

The one handed mark where he tapped it to himself showed a real intent.
He wants in.

This is my problem with Arty. Great moments but not enough of them.

Even the game against Carlton last year, which was one of his better AFL games, he only really had a handful of involvements.

Until he is more consistent, I think he is a VFL player.

I love Arty and agree but I wonder sometimes is it hindering him not doing his natural instincts and trying to follow positional instructions ?
I’ve watched him a few times off the ball and it looks like he spends a bit of time trying to follow his instructions which takes away where he would instinctly go.
Once he gets the experience of doing both he will be exceptional

Will the 4 headed monster be a thing this season with Lobb and Darcy both being deserving of a spot?

The first game had their stronger lineup, though that was apparently hampered by a lot of outs. I just don't know enough or care enough about them to be able to quantify that.

It should be more of a full squad in the next Community game in Tassy barring their injuries so that should give us a better idea on how we are progressing.

I was very impressed with Lobb's and Darc's game chef. It seem to be that Lobby is carrying on where he left off against Geelong last year. He has become more versatile for us now. Darc has to play. Just too good to be left out.

I read that a squad of 30 for the community games 8 on bench 4 emergencies.
Will we send 26 to Tassie this week?

I was interested in finding out how many tackles Sanders had, and seven is a great number to go with the healthy amount of football he got his hands on.

Also nice that he's gotten exposure to having to deal with a tag as early as his first match sim

It does it on Windows desktop all the time - it is 100% not just an Apple thing.

Is this when you copy and paste?

It's to do with character sets. Nerd stuff. I use a Windows desktop mainly on here and haven't had any issues other than when I cut and paste from another source.

Yes that is exactly what happens - it only seems to occur when copy and pasting articles.

When you're doing that you grab all the formatting first. So if you use a middle man like notepad and paste into that and paste back out it should strip the formatting.

I think that works (shrug)

I think so too Mantis, a role further upfield is I think the best fit for his skill sets, and our team from now. With JUH entering his 4th season now, and Lobb, English, Darcy and Weightman we have some forward weapons to finish. Naughton's one big deficiency is his goal-kicking. He strengths are his marking, mobility, dexterity below knees, and defensive pressure. As a roaming big man between the arcs he has the ability to connect all 3 lines.

Richardson and Nick Riewoldt were very good at this in , especially Richo in the last 2 years of his career. Polled very well in the brownlow in one of those years.
