Interesting first quarter. Didn’t think the Dees were that bad (except moving the ball into the forward line) but are 30-0 down. Carlton playing well

Blues putting Melbourne to the sword in the first quarter.
Quarter time Blues 5 goals straight, Demons yet to score.
A grown man saying 'eye diddle diddle' instead of middle really creeps me out.

Footy as a spectacle these days is largely boring.
Footage of every player on the ground being in the same 50m arch is just so congested and ugly.

Melbourne’s delivery into the forward 50 tonight is reminiscent of us. Terrible

Needs to be a 16 v 16 game. Open it up more. Players are way too fit and cover more ground than in the good old days.

I have a confession to make. I don't hate Carlton and never really have. Out of those big clubs growing up if I had to choose one it would have been them.

41-61 inside 50s
15-23 shots
So Carlton had 20 less inside 50s and 8 less scoring shots.
Blues efficient. Demons gave up some easy, soft goals.
Rarely see a team win that that type of differential.

you know what I really noticed about Melbourne, the 1% ers. The little taps here and there and continually pushing the ball forward, especially when you think it is going out. The effort by Viney to hit the ball back into play was tremendous. We need to learn from them

Is there a player that runs harder than Butters in the league? Where does he get his energy from he just doesn't tire that kid, runs both ways too.
Nice to see a team target a player as Port has with Stewart, I cant remember the last time we did.

I really enjoyed that game of footy. I thought Rioli through a few undisciplined acts nearly cost the power the game.
Power played quick and fast in the first half and the second half was a tightly contested physical affair.

the second one, Guthrie was hanging onto Rioli.
I just hate the game when that happens, lose all interests. The umpiring interpretation is ruining the game.

Irrelevant. If you impede the player taking the 50 at all then it's another 50.
Rioli swerves across to be a little in his way. Even if Gurhrie just took a step left to go around him that's still an additional 50.

Stats in isolation like that are dumb.
Did you see who had more contested possessions out of English and Marshall when we played St.Kilda a few weeks back?

If the team wins the cont Poss it really is meaningless. Tim is 3rd for HTA, which is the most important ruck work, so mids can get the ball.
