It’s fair to say the Bulldogs have enjoyed playing against North Melbourne in recent years. So much so that the AFL took them off the Good Friday game for maybe enjoying it a little too much?

The Dogs have won their last five encounters over the Kangaroos by an average margin of 59 points.

North has generally been monstered by the Bulldogs’ supreme contest and clearance players and also had no way of restricting their key forwards from getting involved.

However, the Roos have had a great month. They should’ve beaten Collingwood and Melbourne in successive weeks and it’s largely due to their emerging midfield group coming together.

The Dogs are also in good form and starting to build towards a finals run, making it nearly impossible to tip against them – even with a question mark over Marcus Bontempelli’s availability.

It’s another big test for a young Kangaroos side that has given it their all, but come up short these last few weeks.

We won the game but at one stage led by 38 points. I worry about English. The game starts in the ruck. He just looked very retroactive today. He was led to the ball continually - disappointing to see that. He dropped marks he should have taken. He failed to go for marks in dangerous positions. Jamarra was way off too.

We won the game against a side that has been performing very well against strong opposition in the last couple of weeks. The season is on the line every week now. Let's got the job done.

What?s our thoughts on playing 4 talls , I think it went well Lobb was good out back and if Jamarra had taken his marks early it was game over.
Naughton had a run and Darcy after a couple of weeks worked hard.
That 2nd quarter had ten goals written all over it and Nth were extremely good at holding us.
Don?t get caught up in Nth being shite they are definitley turning into a good team.
Should have won by more but in the end we got the win which is what we needed to do. Agree North showing a bit. With the amount of top 10 draft picks they have had they have to come good and it will happen very quickly.

Just got back from the Station Hotel in Footscray with the family for dinner.

Went to the game today. Just happy to have got the win. The first half wasn't that exciting in terms of the offensive game but we held up very well defensively restricting North.

The 3rd quarter was the deciding factor in the game as we kicked away kicked 5 goals to 3 to get a solid lead going into the last term.

The final term was a nervy one from our perspective as North got back but overall I thought we controlled the game and deserved the win and could have one by more had we kicked accurately.

Tougher tests to come in the next few weeks against Port, Carlton, Geelong and Sydney but we keep in touch with the 8 and the opportunity of finals footy.

In more good news out of today, Cody Weightman who is completely lovely has upset Alistair Clarkson who is an out and out ****, due to the Roos being undisciplined.

The too high on Archer was always there and should be called more often if anything. Cody did dive on the push that gifted Treloar the fifty and goal, but they'd been into Cody all day and were always going to get Brian Laked at some point.

I don't like players going down, but equally, I don't like players cynically getting into the body of opponents with pushes, holds and bumps off the ball.

People like Clarkson have a macho view, where scragging and pushing off the ball is fine, because that's what hard players do while soft players don't retaliate and respond with no resistance to draw a free.

Can't have it both ways. The AFL/ umpires just need to call it consistently and it will stop.

I'd also ask Clarkson why Naughton wasn't given a fifty metre penalty when West was scragged after he took a mark in the pocket (which he goaled). Was that OK? Would he happy with the umpires if it was his team with a difficult shot at goal on the opposite and one of his players was needlessly scragged?

He didn't even play that one up. He got a decent shove fair and square in his back while he wasn't expecting it and was off balance. Not sure what Corr expected, but he genuinely can't have gotten pissy about Flea "diving" on that one. That was his own stupid error.

I genuinely find it equal parts amusing & perplexing…I never wondered where and why people sat on Tony Liberatore, that all made sense. This Cody thing is bonkers - e.g he’s not doing the shhh thing to the crowd like Hawthorn were in Perth yesterday, that’s very hard to like.
