I saw a tweet today from @rickm18 about Trade Trees - effectively the longest single thread that can be drawn through trades.

A favourite with dogs supporters is McMahon to Ward to Macrae to some scrap metal from the Saints.

Here's one I found, by starting with an early trade and just following it along (and there are plenty of other branches off of this):
1987 Terry Keays signed by Pies as 16yo
-> 1990 Terry Keays traded from pies to tigers for pick 4 and took Jason Mccartney
-> 1994 Mccartney traded to Crows for pick 9 Ben Wilson
-> 1996 Wilson traded to Swans for Anthony Rocca, along with pick 14 which they used on Brett O Farrell
-> 1998 O'Farrell traded to Hawks for pick 4 and pick 36
-> pick 36 on traded to Bombers for Andrew Bromford
-> bombers took Danny Jacobs with pick 36
-> 2003 Danny Jacobs traded as part of the Veale deal
-> as part of Veale deal, bombers got pick 6 and took Kepler Bradley

What's the best Trade Tree you know of?

Strong chance I just talk to myself in here but here's another one:
1982 Phil Egan drafted by Richmond
1990 Egan traded to Melbourne for pick 49 (Nick Daffy)
2001 Daffy and pick 17 traded to Swans for Stafford
2001 Swans on trade pick 17 to Saints as part of Barry Hall trade. (Branches here -> Saints on trade 17 to Freo for Heath Black. Freo on trade to Melbourne for Jeff Farmer. Melbourne on trade to the Cats for Clint Bizzell. Cats draft James Kelly.)
2009 Barry Hall traded to Bulldogs for pick 47
2009 pick 47 on traded to Brisbane as part of 3 way trade which includes pick 28 to Swans (another branch - Swans get pick 55 in this trade, pick up Trent Dennis-Lane. He is traded to st Kilda in 2012 for pick 55 which Swans use on Tim Membrey. Membrey picked up by the saints as DFA in 2014).
2009 pick 28 traded to Cats for Shame Mumford. Cats select Mitch Duncan.

There’s some huge deep research in this .. interesting but too much for my brain :-)

Haha yes I did get a bit involved last night...but it is quite easy to follow, particularly the older trades before draft picks changed positions so much.

I use the Draft Guru (https://www.draftguru.com.au/trades/1991-john-barnes-sean-denham) website to follow along.
